JFK AMEX Centurion Lounge to Open Early 2019

A New JFK AMEX Centurion Lounge Will Open Early 2019, in Terminal 4, as the 10th AMEX Centurion Lounge. Yay! Finally NYC-based flyers and NYC-bound travelers with an AMEX Platinum, AMEX Business Platinum or Centurion card will be able to access a Centurion Lounge before or after international flights. While there is an AMEX Centurion Lounge at New York LaGuardia Airport, LGA only offers domestic flights and flights to Canada, and there's no good public transit option to LGA.

The new AMEX Centurion Lounge JFK will be a two floor lounge flooded with natural light from a wall of windows overlooking the tarmac. As with other Centurion Lounges it will offer hot food, complimentary cocktails, wines, beers and non-alcoholic drinks, shower suites with L'Occitane bath prodcuts, high speed WiFi and “special new features” that Josh McKay, VP of Global Customer Benefits and Services at AMEX, declined to specify.

AMEX recently opened a Hong Kong Centurion Lounge on October 2, 2017, the same day AMEX Centurion Lounges limited access to Centurion Lounges to Platinum and Centurion cardholders, ostensibly to help prevent overcrowding, but most likely to also try to dissuade cardholders from closing their cards, given the significant competition from the Chase Sapphire Reserve.

The other AMEX Centurion Lounges are Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle.
