This Air France Business Class Review on a 777-300ER is from our flight from Paris CDG to San Francisco SFO.
.
Air France Business Class Cabin and Seat, 777-300ER
There are 60 Business Class seats on the version of the Air France 777-300ER we were on, with seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, where each seat has direct aisle access, across 4 rows in the forward business class mini cabin right behind La Premiere First Class, and 11 rows in the second business class cabin after the galley and lavatories. We recommend reserving early and nabbing a seat in the mini cabin, which can feel less busy and quieter, since there isn't as much aisle traffic.
Business Class seats are 21 inches wide; we were in Air France's older seats, which are open and lack doors, but the airline is in the process of upgrading to the new Safran Versa suite with privacy doors (these retrofitted aircraft have 48 seats, instead of 58 or 60).

.
Upon boarding, each seat featured a pillow, Sofitel bedding (mattress pad and duvet), and slippers, which we appreciate and aren't always provided for business class passengers on non-Asian airlines.

.
The seat controls were a bit scratched up, unsurprising given the age of the aircraft, but simple to adjust.

.
I do like the mirrored compartment that houses the noise cancelling headset, and can also be used to store other small items within easy reach, plus double as a vanity for combing hair, etc.

.
The IFE screen was rather small and dated, but can be angled by pushing the silver button next to it. As almost always in business class, bring your own noise cancelling headphones if you're an audiophile. Underneath is the ottoman, which forms part of the flat bed when the seat is reclined.

.
The power outlet and USB port are less conveniently located underneath the counter space/arm rest, so a bit trickier to reach.

.
Air France Business Class Menu and Dining
After boarding but before take-off, we were offered a pre-flight drink; I chose orange juice.

.
Once airborne, we were given a hot towel to refresh.

.
This was followed by a choice of beverage and pre-lunch snack: some crispy Gavottes crispy “crêpe” crackers which accompanied a dip of pink peppercorn cream, onion compote, and tomato crumble. I didn't bother with the packaged crackers, but the dip was delicious.

.
This was our lunch menu:

.
The two starters given to all guests were Scallops with Dill, Avocado, and Hazelnuts, and Sunchoke Mousseline; there was also a simple green salad and crusty bread served with Isigny Sainte-Mère butter.

.
They may not look like much in the photo, but these were fantastic appetizers. I particularly enjoyed the Sunchoke Mousseline, since I so rarely have sunchokes, which have a pleasantly sweet, nutty flavor, which was complemented by the crunchy pickles and pine nuts garnishing the dish.

.
The scallops were also delicious, paired with the creamy dilled avocado. It's not common to see scallops in business class, at least on the European flights I've flown, so they were a pleasant surprise.

.
For my main, I chose the Roast Guinea Fowl. The vinegar caper sauce provided nice contrast with the succulent meat, although plating could have been more elevated.

.
Since I was hungry, I appreciate that cheese was offered as a separate course, before dessert, making it less awkward to request both. My favorite was the Comté, my teen preferred the Saint-Nectaire, and my husband, a blue cheese fan, liked the Fourme d'Ambert.

.
The dessert of almond mousse with pear confit was better than 90% of the desserts I've had on business class flights, although it couldn't of course compare to the Pierre Herme pastries we brought back with us.

.
Lunch was very satisfying, but Air France does offer snacks after lunch service and before the light meal prior to landing:

.
I liked that there was a fresh fruit basket, not just packaged snacks or a sandwich, and my teen made good use of it, grabbing some grapes and a tangerine:

.
These were some of the wines, beers, and hot drinks available on our flight:

.

.

.

.
Prior to landing, we were offered a light meal, with a choice between a chicken and vegetarian option:

.
The tarragon chicken with potato hot dish was actually quite substantial and satisfying, especially when paired with crusty bread and the fresh grapefruit.

.
Air France Business Class Amenity Kit
The amenity kit was in a rather nice (for business class) fabric clutch, but was otherwise quite basic: toothbrush and toothpaste, earplugs, sleep mask (not adjustable), socks, and mini Clarins products: Total Eye Contour Gel and Beauty Flash Balm. The pen was a nice touch.

.
Air France Business Class Flat Bed
Air France Business Class seats recline into fully flat beds, 79 inches long. The mattress pad doesn't cover the entire length, just the head and torso area, and isn't very thick, so tamp down expectations of a true Sofitel bed experience.

.
That said, we were on a daytime flight, so it was perfectly comfortable for napping. For a more comfortable overnight flight, I'd have inflated the Thermarest portable mattress pad that I typically bring with me, as that helps provide a much better night's sleep when not flying JAL Business Class, which has a true memory foam mattress pad.

.
Prior to landing, we were offered another hot towel, which I appreciated. I've noticed that some business class products these days only offer one hot towel before the meal service, and have cut back to not offering one before landing, so kudos to Air France for keeping this touch.

.
The Verdict
While we were in the older, non-suite Air France Business Class on the 777-300ER, it was still quite comfortable, and with better food and service than is often the case for U.S. carriers on international routes. We recommend selecting a window seat in the smaller business class cabin right behind first class, and trying to secure one of the new Air France Business Class Suites (with the caveat that as always, there can be equipment swaps). Plus, Air France aims to complete its fleet-wide installation of Starlink WiFi by the end of 2026.
