Ritz-Carlton STARS is Ritz-Carlton's Preferred Partner Program, but unlike most other preferred partner programs, it offers fewer benefits: no explicit upgrade benefit, and no hotel credit. For this reason, I normally reserve Ritz-Carlton hotels with Virtuoso benefits, which do include an upgrade at check-in, based on availability, and a $100 food and beverage or spa credit. There are a number of 3rd night free, 4th night free, and other offers available for select Ritz-Carlton hotels, but I've been picky in the list below by including in the top 10 only those properties that more consistently get good reviews from clients.
1. Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong: 3rd Night Free + Virtuoso Benefits
It's no secret that many of the best luxury hotels and resorts are in Asia, from the perspective of excellent service. The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong is the favorite city Ritz-Carlton in the world for some of my clients, thanks to the fantastic views, excellent service, especially in the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong Club Lounge, great restaurants and food (don't miss Tin Lung Heen for dim sum, or the Pierre Herme shop in the lobby).

Soccer fans are focused on the World Cup 2018 matches in Russia right now, but a few days after the World Cup final occurs in Moscow on July 15, many Russian luxury hotels figure they'll be in a low demand period. That means that the Ritz-Carlton Moscow, with excellent views of Red Square, is offering 3rd night free together with Virtuoso benefits. I highly recommend staying in a Club Room or Suite with access to the Ritz-Carlton Moscow Club Lounge.

3. Ritz-Carlton Tokyo: 4th Night Free + Virtuoso Benefits
Tokyo is another of the top luxury hotel cities, and The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo is one of the best luxury hotels in Tokyo, which I had the pleasure to experience earlier this year on a site inspection stay. I particularly recommend the Club Lounge, which not only has views of Mount Fuji on a clear day, but offers several distinct seating areas and several food and beverage presentations throughout the day, as well as dedicated concierge service.

4. The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto: 4th Night Free + Virtuoso Benefits
Kyoto, although a must for most first-time visitors to Japan, until relatively recently had no true luxury hotels. Currently the top contenders are the Four Seasons Kyoto and the Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, although Aman Resorts will be opening Amaniwa in Kyoto within the next year.
The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto is within walking distance of Gion, the traditional nightlife district, where you may spot a geisha or maiko (apprentice geisha), Maruyama Park, Heian Shrine, and the Kyoto Imperial Palace, among other sights.

My top luxury hotel recommendation in Montreal is the Ritz-Carlton Montreal, so while this isn't as generous an offer as you'll find for some other hotels, it makes the Top 10 due to the hotel's quality.

I recently stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Reserve Mandapa, and it has a great hard product, with beautiful stand alone villas with private pools, although service could use some work. It's set in a scenic area of Ubud, Bali's artistic and cultural center, and is a short walk away from Amandari, making it easy to stay at one resort and enjoy a meal at the other.

We enjoyed our stay at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco, in a Club Room with Ritz-Carlton San Francisco Club Lounge access. There was even a complimentary wine tasting, as our stay was on a Friday night. The hotel is on Nob Hill, an easy walk from the financial district, and close to the Powell & Pine cable car stop.

The Ritz-Carlton Residences Waikiki Beach is not a Virtuoso property and does not participate in Ritz-Carlton Rewards or Marriott Rewards, but if you don't have to be right on Waikiki Beach, it's one of the newest and best options in Waikiki, especially for families who want a fully equipped kitchen and the convenience of a washer and dryer.
