Six Senses Kyoto Will Open in 2024 as the first Six Senses in Japan and the 12th in the Asia-Pacific region; it also will be one of Six Senses' few urban hotels, after Six Senses Kocatas Mansions in Istanbul and Six Senses New York, opening in 2022.
.
Six Senses Kyoto Location
The Six Senses Kyoto will be located near the Myoho-in temple and Tokyokuni-Jinja shrine, close to the Four Seasons Kyoto, and about an 18-20 minute walk to Gion, home to Yasaka shrine, Maruyama Park, and the city's historical entertainment district, where geisha and maiko (geisha apprentices) entertain at the city's legendary ochaya (teahouses). Most guests will likely arrive from the Kyoto Railway Station, which is a 10-15 minute drive from the hotel, depending on traffic.
.
Six Senses Kyoto Rooms and Amenities
The Six Senses Kyoto will have 81 rooms and suites set around a central courtyard, integrating the tranquility of nature into the guest experience. BLINK Design Group, whose work includes the Six Senses Uluwatu in Bali, ROKU Kyoto, and Raffles Maldives Meradhoo, will develop the interior design.
Dining options will include a sushi bar, cocktail lounge, and all-day dining restaurant.
Fans of Six Senses spas will enjoy the Ryokan-style welcome at the hotel's spa, as well as signature treatments and healing rituals to induce calm and well-being.
As with other Six Senses resorts, Six Senses Kyoto will have an Earth Lab dedicated to an interactive understanding of the conservation and ecologically sustainable work done at the property.
Children are also welcome at Six Senses Kyoto, with a host of Grow with Six Senses arts, crafts, and Japanese cultural activities curated just for them.
