Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve Will Open in Costa Rica in 2024 as the first Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Central and South America. Other Ritz-Carlton Reserve resorts include Mandapa in Ubud , Bali, Phulay Bay in Thailand, the new Higashiyama Niseko Village in Japan, Dorado Beach in Puerto Rico, and Zadun in Los Cabos.

Nekajui Location

Nekajui (pronounced nek-ah-wee), which means “garden” in Chorotegan, the language of an indigenous tribe that once lived in the area, will be located on Pochote Bay on the Peninsula Papagayo, in close proximity to the Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica and the Andaz Costa Rica and part of the 1400 acre private gated community. It's about a 45 minute drive from Liberia Airport (LIR), which has nonstop flights from ATL, CLT, DEN, DFW, IAH, JFK, LAX, MCO, MIA, ORD and YYZ, among others.

Nekajui Amenities

When it opens, Nekajui will offer 107 guest rooms and suites, spread among three architecturally distinct areas.

The Classic Zone will feature modern interpretations of traditional, hacienda-style architecture, including both guest rooms and suites as well as the resort's reception.

The Transitional Zone, steeped in natural light, will highlight the typical architecture found in the local Guanacaste region across guest rooms, suites, and Ritz-Carlton Reserve private residences. Some of the rooms and suites feature private plunge pools with stunning ocean and sunset views.

The Organic Zone will offer tree house-style rooms that take inspiration from the natural environment, and will also encompass the resort's beach club, exclusive to resort guests and private residence owners, and the resort spa, which will be reached by a dramatic hanging bridge.

Additional Nekajui amenities will include three signature Ritz-Carlton Reserve dining experiences, as well as Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ambassadors of the Environment, enjoyed by kids and their families, which will offer an immersive gateway to 570 square miles of protected land.
