May 2026 Update: American Airlines will ultimately add Starlink to over 500 Airbus aircraft, starting Q1 2027, including its A319s, A320s, A321s, and new A321XLR and A321neo aircraft. Unfortunately Boeing 737s and regional jets will not receive Starlink.
Below are the airlines that are adding or will add Starlink:
Air France: Equipped about one third of its aircraft with Starlink by the end of 2025, and expects to have installed it fleet-wide by the end of 2026.
Air New Zealand has been trialing Starlink, but we haven't seen a roll-out timeline.
Alaska Airlines has leveraged Hawaiian's adoption of Starlink for its A330s and A321neos (although not its 787s). Alaska will follow Hawaiian's lead, installing Starlink in 2026, starting with its E175 fleet, followed by the Boeing 737 and 787 fleets. Full completion is expected by the end of 2027.
Aer Lingus: Select A330 aircraft currently have Starlink installed; installation is expected to take a couple years.
British Airways: BA originally expected to have installed Starlink on all aircraft over the next two years, by 2028, but as of June 2026, only five of BA's 787-8 Dreamliners have Starlink. Installation has been put on pause for at least all of summer 2026 because BA's ambitious flying schedule doesn't provide sufficient time on the ground to retrofit other aircraft with Starlink. At this rate, only 20% of BA's fleet will have Starlink by March 2028.
The first British Airways aircraft to install Starlink are the twelve 787-8 planes, which have never had WiFi, most likely followed by the 787-9 Dreamliners, since the initial focus is on long-haul aircraft.
Emirates: Expects to equip its entire fleet with Starlink by mid-2027. In February 2026 it started installation on its massive A380 fleet.
Iberia: Has started Starlink installation, expected to complete it by the end of 2026.
Korean Air plans to install Starlink on its long-haul Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A350-900 aircraft, and following its merger with Asiana, expects to install Starlink across both airlines' fleets by the end of 2027.
Lufthansa Group (Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, ITA Airways) will add Starlink starting in 2H 2026, with expected completion across all existing and new aircraft of the four airlines by 2029.
Qatar Airways: Has equipped nearly 60% of its fleet with Starlink, including all A350s, as well as many Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 aircraft. See Qatar's Starlink-equipped routes.
SAS is expected to deploy Starlink across its fleet by mid-2027.
Singapore Airlines is late to the party, starting its Starlink installation Q1 2027 across part of its fleet: A350-900 long‑haul (LH), A350-900 ultra‑long‑range (ULR), and A380 aircraft. Currently there are no plans to install it on the aircraft that service short-haul routes.
United Airlines is the first major U.S. airline to add Starlink WiFi to its fleet. First Starlink WiFi mainline flight (non-regional) launched October 15, 2025: a 737-800 flight from Newark EWR to Houston IAH. Starlink brings faster Internet speeds, similar to home broadband, enabling passengers to work more efficiently or stream entertainment. In order to access the free service, passengers must be United MileagePlus members.
United's plan is to deploy Starlink on up to fifteen 737-800s each month. Over half of United's regional jets are already equipped with Starlink WiFi. Passengers are notified ahead of time if their flight is equipped with Starlink WiFi.
Virgin Atlantic plans to install Starlink WiFi starting Q3 2026, with fleet installation complete by the end of 2027.
Zipair was the first Asian airline to install Starlink across its entire fleet of 787 Dreamliners.
