Fly Emirates A380 Business Class to Italy for 59,000 miles for select dates in Winter and Early Spring 2027. The A380 flies New York JFK to Milan MXP. If you book roundtrip you can book for 108K Emirates Skywards miles. Best deal is with JAL Mileage Bank, which is 60K miles one way or 85K miles roundtrip, but you must have a JAL account open for at least 7 days before being able to redeem miles.

For JFK-MXP there's availability primarily from mid-January to mid-March 2027.

For MXP-JFK there are several December 2026 dates as well as mid-January to mid-March 2027.

Transfer AMEX, Citi, and Bilt points to Emirates Skywards (AMEX and Citi points transfer at the rate of 1000 points to get 800 Emirates miles). Emirates will usually be willing to put the award seats on hold before you transfer points. Transfers may take longer if you just opened a Skywards account.

It's also possible to book using JAL Mileage Plan miles for only 85,000 miles roundtrip or 60,000 miles one way, with lower taxes of just $100 one way or $250 roundtrip, but note that your JAL account must have been open at least seven days before you can redeem miles, and you won't have the potential opportunity to upgrade to Emirates First Class, which is only offered, if available, to award redemptions using Emirates miles (if available, it costs an additional 56,000 miles each way).
