Best Luxury Resorts for Tennis Players

Best Luxury Resorts for Tennis Players

.

What are the Best Luxury Resorts for Tennis Players? A number of resorts offer tennis courts, but some aren't true luxury resorts, and at others it's seemingly an afterthought and not well maintained. Here are a few of our favorite luxury resorts where tennis is integral to the resort's offerings.

1. Cheval Blanc Randheli, Maldives

Cheval Blanc Randheli is among the very best luxury resorts in the Maldives, even with stiff competition from Velaa and Joali. It's especially great for tennis players, who have their own tennis island to play on, with two US Open and Paris Masters courts that face the gorgeous lagoon. The current tennis pro is Ivo Fonseca, who hails from Lisbon and can coach in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.

2. Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman, Caribbean

Many resorts outsource their tennis operation, but not the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman, where all tennis coaches are employed directly by Ritz-Carlton and provide a high level of service in addition to their tennis skills. Pro Uli Hoppe leads a team that offers group and private tennis lessons, Cardio Tennis, Junior Academy. My son had a fantastic lesson with Coach Uli, whom I highly recommend booking well in advance, as his time is more limited given his management of the overall tennis operation.

Some tennis clients of mine return again and again to Four Seasons Maui at Wailea, for the great coaching of Darin Zerbe. Since it's Hawaii, I highly recommend an early morning or late afternoon lesson, since it's just so hot and humid in the middle of the day.
