The new Mandarin Oriental Cristallo, Cortina in the Dolomites, the Italian Alps, will open in early 2027. The original Hotel Cristallo was built in 1901 by the Menardi family and was a popular ski destination in the 1930s for the European cultured elite. After the Olympic Games of 1956, the Hotel entered its “golden era” as a renowned ski destination, hosting royals and celebrities, including Peter Sellers, Frank Sinatra, Saul Bellow and Vladimir Nabokov.

The UNESCO-listed Dolomites are among the few Alpine resorts with guaranteed snow throughout the season and feature 745 miles of interconnected slopes.

The hotel is located in the iconic mountain town of Cortina d'Ampezzo, about a 2 hour drive from Venice (VCE), served by nonstop flights from Amsterdam, Atlanta, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dubai, Frankfurt, London LHR, Madrid, New York JFK, Newark, Paris CDG, Philadelphia, Tel Aviv, Vienna, Washington DC IAD, and Zurich, among others. It's also about a 2 hour drive from Bolzano Airport (BZO), which is served by Sky Alps flights from Berlin, Hamburg, Copenhagen, and London Gatwick, among others.
