UK COVID-19 Entry Restrictions for Americans
As we mentioned in EU to Reopen to Vaccinated Tourists, the UK, which exited the EU in early 2020, currently has a mandatory quarantine in place for visitors from the U.S. and the many other countries on its amber list. The quarantine is 10 days long, although it's possible, with a COVID-19 PCR test (taken at one's own expense) after 5 full days, to test out of the remainder of quarantine. While it's hoped that sooner rather than later the UK and U.S. will develop a way for fully vaccinated travelers to test out of mandatory quarantine, in the meantime, U.S. travelers wanting to try out JetBlue's new Mint Suite and Mint Studio may want to look into transiting London en route to countries that are already open to Americans, such as Iceland, Greece or Italy, or ones such as France that are highly likely to have opened to Americans by the time JetBlue service to London launches.
