Getting a Fast COVID-19 PCR Test is Required to Travel to many destinations now, from most Caribbean countries (see Turks & Caicos Has Reopened, Anguilla Reopening, St. Barth Reopening, Caribbean Reopenings of St. Lucia and Antigua) to French Polynesia to certain states such as Alaska and Maine, in order to avoid a 14-day quarantine (see Maine: New York, NJ, CT Visitors Exempt from 14 Day Quarantine and Covid-19 Testing).
But the problem for some of these destinations, such as French Polynesia, is how to get a negative COVID-19 PCR result within 72 hours, given the significant delay in receiving results back from many testing facilities. Here are the facilities in New York and California that we're aware of that either promote their fast turnaround for testing, or have provided fast test results. Please comment if there's another testing facility you've had a fast PCR test result from, so we can add it to this list.
NYC
NYU Langone
NYU Langone offers COVID-19 PCR testing; an appointment is required. In Manhattan, at the Tisch Hospital, testing hours are Monday-Saturday 8am-6pm, but we recommend trying for as early an appointment as possible early in the week, as it can take 1-2 business days. Many do receive their results back within 24 hours. Again, make an appointment as walk-ins are NOT accepted. Insurance may cover your test; check this list of NYU Langone Participating Healthcare Plans.

This is a more costly option, but is advertised as same day results. Note that you must complete a COVID-19 form and email it to admin [at] connormd.com to schedule an appointment at the office, which is at 110 East 55th Street, 16th Floor. If your insurance is one of the following plans, the cost is $95 + $35 for an official certificate stamped and signed by a physician with proof of a negative RT-PCR COVID-19 test results. If your insurance is other than one of the following, the cost is $395 + the $35 fee for a signed certificate attesting that the result is negative.

Los Angeles
MyConcierge MD offers rapid COVID-19 PCR testing with the result emailed usually within 24 hours, although it can take up to 48 hours. The fee is $225 which is payable up front, although part of it may be covered by insurance, which the practice can submit on your behalf.

AFC Urgent Care, Burlington, MA
AFC Urgent Care Burlington, located at 90 Middlesex Turnpike, offers rapid molecular Covid-19 testing with results expected back the day after their visit. Although most patients with insurance will have the Covid-19 test covered, there could be a charge (that may not be covered by insurance) for an “outpatient office visit” so be sure to get details about this when calling to make an appointment.

Denver, CO
AFC Urgent Care, Denver, CO
Multiple AFC Urgent Care locations in Denver (Denver Leetsdale, Denver Speer, Cherry Creek, Denver Highlands, Denver Park Hill) offer Rapid COVID-19 testing. Test results are typically available within 15-20 minutes. Note that many insurance plans do NOT cover rapid COVID-19 testing, only the regular PCR test, which can take 3-5 days to return results.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Lab Doctor
Lab Doctor, located at 1425-A SE 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale, offers Covid-19 PCR testing with most results returned the following day, emailed in pdf format. The test must be purchased for $179 (no insurance accepted) after which you email info [at] labdoctor.org with your name, DOB, gender, phone number, date to expect you, and whether you wish to have the nasal swab taken while you sit in your car.
