This Mountain Hotel is Well Known for Skiing in Winter, but in summer it's also a fantastic destination for beautiful hiking trails and biking. And for those less athletically inclined, it has indoor and outdoor swimming pools and extensive sauna and indoor hydrotherapy facilities.
Its lobby and several other common areas are a mixture of ski chalet and Asian influences.
We loved the gas fireplace in our suite, and the cool mountain air even in summer evenings prompted us to use it. In fact, each room and suite has its own gas fireplace, controlled by tablet.
While the bed was on the firm side, we were able to obtain an additional mattress pad (made by Swedish bed specialist, Hästens) to make it softer.
Don't miss the Japanese restaurant, where we enjoyed the best miso marinated black cod we've ever had.
Breakfast features an array of fresh squeezed fruit juices, fresh fruits, yogurts, breads and pastries, smoked salmon and cold cuts, and hot items, but a particular favorite for us was the cheese board, composed of several varieties of cheese from the 5 meter tall cheese room:
I thought it was very cute to have this area at breakfast for little kids to help themselves to fresh fruits and breads:
While our visit was during summer, advanced skiers love the plentiful fresh powder in this area, with some of the most thrilling black runs around. My son and I instead enjoyed a much tamer 1 hour hike down to the village after taking one of the ski lifts up, and we were rewarded with some beautiful views.
Afterwards, we enjoyed the indoor pool and in my case, the hydrotherapy pools (children under 16 are not permitted in the hydrotherapy part of the spa).
Can you guess the hotel and where it's located?
