Singapore and Thailand Have Removed the Pre-Travel Covid Test for Vaccinated Travelers Arriving April 26, 2022 (Singapore) and May 1, 2022 (Thailand). This brings travel nearly back to pre-pandemic times, with a few caveats that we note below. It's a welcome move for visitors who have avoided Southeast Asian travel due to the many restrictions, particularly compared to Europe. Here are the details:
Singapore
- Takes effect April 26, 2022
- All fully vaccinated visitors and also non-fully vaccinated children age 12 and younger do not require a pre-travel COVID-19 test
- Travelers will need either a Digitally Verifiable Vaccination Certificate (for example a SMART Health Card) or need to ensure that their paper vaccine card includes their name and date of birth (which matches the passport name and date of birth), country of vaccination, name of vaccines administered, and vaccination dates.

Thailand
- Takes effect May 1, 2022
- International visitors who are fully vaccinated will no longer need to take a pre-travel or an on-arrival COVID-19 test
- Travelers, must, however, still apply for a Thailand Pass, where they will upload their passport and vaccination details, as well as proof of travel insurance that includes at least $10,000 per person in medical coverage valid in Thailand
- Visitors who aren't fully vaccinated must continue to provide negative results from a COVID-19 RT-PCR test taken within the 72 hours prior to flight departure, and also register for the Thailand Pass as above, with the same proof of at least $10,000 in travel medical insurance.
In Thailand, we recommend the Four Seasons Koh Samui, Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, the Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle in Chiang Rai, and the new Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River.
