Review: Four Seasons Los Angeles, Beverly Hills

Review: Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills

This Review of Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills is of a Wellness Suite on the fourth floor, and also includes dinner at Cucina Ristorante in the hotel. Originally opened in 1987, it's one of three Four Seasons hotels in the greater Los Angeles area; the others are the Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons Hotel (5 minute drive away), and the Four Seasons Westlake Village.

Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills Location and Check-in

At the time of our stay there was complimentary self-parking due to COVID-19; the bellman directed my husband to the nearby parking garage. Meanwhile, my son and I were swiftly checked in. There was no line at reception when we arrived in the early evening. We were offered complimentary San Benedetto mineral water.

We were generously upgraded from a Wellness Studio Suite (430 sq. ft.) to a Wellness Suite (630 sq. ft.) Wellness Studios and Suites are located on the 4th floor and include a number of features that we found appealing: hypoallergenic wooden floors (great for the allergy sufferers in my family); HEPA air filter; water dechlorinator and water purification system; a Peloton bicycle; and sulfate-free bath products by LATHER.

We appreciated the lovely fresh fruit welcome amenity, while our teenage son was very happy to find an in-room movie voucher with popcorn.

The separate bedroom has doors that close it off from the living area. I just wish that the doors weren't glass, since solid wooden doors are better in terms of limiting light and sound from the bedroom (say if parents are watching a movie) after putting a child to sleep in the living room.

The Four Seasons bed remains unparalleled in the luxury hotel industry, and we slept incredibly well.

The Rabbit Air HEPA air filter is by the bed.

The only thing we didn't love about the suite is the bathroom, which, while immaculate, is small compared to more modern Four Seasons bathrooms, with just one sink, a regular shower head instead of a rain shower, and a toilet in the same room rather than in a separate chamber.

The LATHER sulfate-free bath products were excellent, however.

A nice aspect of the rooms and suites at the Four Seasons Los Angeles is that they each have a private balcony. The Wellness Suite balcony isn't large enough to be furnished, and we didn't use ours when it was raining, but in between rainy spells it was pleasant to go outside for fresh air.

Heated Outdoor Swimming Pool

It was uncharacteristically rainy in Los Angeles during our winter stay, so no one was at the fourth floor pool when we swam our laps. Fortunately, given the rainy and cool weather, the outdoor pool is heated. Unfortunately, the separate jacuzzi hot tub was closed for repairs during our visit.

Culina Restaurant

Since we arrived in the evening and didn't want to venture out in the rain, we had dinner at the hotel's Culina Ristorante.

The Quattro Formaggi and Diavola pizzas we ordered were fantastic, as were the simple but incredibly tasty sides of wild mushrooms and broccolini. If Culina was in our neighborhood in San Francisco, we'd go back often for pizza.

The Four Seasons Preferred Partner breakfast benefit includes the option to order room service instead of dining at the restaurant.

We only tried the Breakfast Burrito, which was hearty and good, although not memorable.

The Verdict

While this is one of Four Seasons' older hotels, we enjoyed our Wellness Suite, particularly the HEPA Rabbit Air filter, wooden floors, proximity to the outdoor pool, and having a Peloton in the suite. Our pizza and vegetable side dishes at Culina were excellent, while the breakfast burrito we had via room service was good, but not memorable.
