Qatar QSuites Business Class Award Space to the Maldives

There's Qatar QSuites Business Class Award Space to the Middle East and the Maldives for late 2022 and early 2023. While not our favorite business class (we prefer Japan Airlines SkySuite Business Class window seats, thanks to the three windows, privacy, and comfortable mattress pad), Qatar QSuites has a good hard product, even if service and catering has been inconsistent on our multiple flights. While space is going quickly, there are still some dates between October 2022-January 2023 with 2 award seats, and for February 2023 (which isn't yet available to be booked with AAdvantage miles), there are multiple dates with 4 award seats available. The most space seems to be between JFK-DOH and LAX-DOH, although we also see MIA-DOH and ORD-DOH award space some days.

Which Miles and Points to Book Qatar QSuites Award Space

The best deal is with American AAdvantage miles: just 70,000 miles each way between the U.S. and the Maldives (MLE), with a stopover in Doha (DOH). It's also 70K miles each way between the U.S. and other destinations in the Middle East or India, again with a stopover in DOH. While it's also possible to reserve in AA Business Class, we definitely recommend flying Qatar Airways metal over American Airlines, so check the operating carrier of each flight leg before booking.

It's also possible to use other oneworld miles, such as British Airways Avios, although you'll pay quite a bit more in miles, along with fuel surcharges. Still, especially if you're looking at February 2023 dates and have a lot of British Airways Avios, it may be worth it to spend more miles to lock in your preferred dates, since February is already open using Avios, due to the British Airways award calendar opening 355 days in advance, vs. only 331 days in advance for American AAdvantage.
