While even 4X AMEX points is not as good as the 5X Ultimate Rewards points that are possible if you use an Ink Cash or Ink Plus card to purchase Amazon gift cards at Staples or other office supply store, it's good to diversify your frequent flyer miles and points earning. I don't recall any other recent opportunity to earn 3X-4X AMEX points per dollar at Amazon, so it's a good way to earn more Membership Rewards points through spend, if you have substantial Amazon spend.

Which AMEX Cards Are Targeted for This 3X on Amazon Offer?
We have three AMEX Membership Rewards, an AMEX Business Platinum, an AMEX EveryDay, and an AMEX Blue Business Plus; the offer was on all three cards, so it seems to be very broadly targeted. We'll exclusively be using it on the AMEX Blue Business Plus, since that card already earns 2X on everything, making this an offer for 4X on Amazon spend.
Will the AMEX EveryDay Card Earn 20% Bonus Points on the 3X?
No; for purposes of calculating the 20% bonus for the AMEX EveryDay card, the additional 2X points will not be included.
When Will Bonus Points Post?
Bonus points from the offer will post within 90 days of 8/28/18, although typically they post sooner than that.
How Much Are AMEX Membership Rewards Points Worth?
The value of frequent flyer miles and AMEX Membership Rewards points is subjective, but a good rule of thumb is to not redeem for anything that isn't getting you at least 2 cents per point in value. And if you're redeeming for international business class or first class award flights, you should be able to get much more than that. For TravelSort Clients and for my own travel, I aim to redeem AMEX Membership Rewards points for at least 4-5 cents or more per point; first class awards to Asia can exceed 10 cents per point in value.
