With AMEX Offers, Earn 20,000 AMEX Points for $1000 in KLM or Air France Spend, if you're targeted for this offer. AMEX Offers are visible if you log into your AMEX online account and scroll down the page; if you have more than 1 AMEX card, check each of them. While most offers are similar across cards, some targeted offers will appear on a given card, and not on others. This Air France and KLM offer appeared on my AMEX Business Platinum, AMEX EveryDay, and my husband's AMEX Blue Business Plus cards. Here are the offer details:
- Earn 20,000 Membership Rewards points by using your enrolled AMEX card to spend $1000 or more in a single transaction directly with KLM (or Air France, if you select the Air France offer)
- Must book by July 31, 2018
- Flight must originate in the U.S. (for KLM) and be charged in USD (both Air France and KLM offers)
- Flight must be booked on the klm.us (or airfrance.us, if selecting the Air France offer) Web site or the U.S. mobile app.
- Not valid for bookings made by phone, through partner sites, travel agencies or third parties.
- Additional points will be credited within 90 days of 7/31/18

Will Purchases of Flying Blue Miles Qualify?
No; the offer is strictly for flight and excludes purchases of miles, group bookings, convention/conference bookings, hotel bookings, car rentals, ground transfers, airport parking, lounge access, and purchases at shopping.airfrance.com, laboutique.airfrance.com and Shop@KLM.
Will Air France Flights from France to the U.S. Qualify?
Per the terms they should, if they are denominated in USD; only the KLM offer specifies that the flight must originate in the U.S.
Are All Air France and KLM Business Class Seats Flat Bed?
No; only 777-200ER and the 777-300ER aircraft that also have first class (La Premiere) have flat bed seats. The other 777-300ER aircraft still have angled flat business class, and Air France A380s also have angled flat business class.
In contrast, all KLM aircraft that fly long haul routes have fully flat bed business class seats, so KLM is a safer bet when it comes to ensuring a flat bed in long haul business class.
