Update: Visa Gift Cards currently out of stock–let's hope Staples.com gets more in before the Visa Checkout $25 discount expires 7/26/14. Still possible to get $25 off other Staples.com purchases.

Use Visa Checkout to get $25 off $100 or more in Visa Gift Card purchases at Staples.com, plus 1% cash back for purchases of $200 or more if you're enrolled in Visa Savings Edge along with 5X points when using your Ink Bold or Ink Plus, per Dan.

Here are the details:

1. Go to Visa Checkout on Staples.com

Go to Visa Checkout on Staples.com and click on the red “Start Shopping” button.

2. Add One or More Visa Gift Cards to Your Cart

I recommend buying the $200 Visa gift cards, since you'll be paying a $6.95 fee per card whether you buy a $100 or $200 gift card. And if you get one or more $200 Visa gift cards and you're enrolled in Visa Savings Edge you'll earn 1% cash back in addition to the $25 discount with Visa Checkout and the 5X points per dollar spent when paying with your Ink Bold or Ink Plus.

3. Checkout Using Visa Checkout

Don't worry that you won't see the $25 savings right when you start checking out. You'll first need to fill in your name and address details, then click continue.

Afterwards, instead of entering your credit card details, select the “Visa Checkout” button.

Pay with Visa Checkout

You'll then see a Visa Checkout popup and fill in your card details there. Notice that it does give you a choice of cards to enter, so you don't have to actually use a Visa; if you added an AMEX Staples offer you could use your AMEX card to also get that discount.

In our case, my husband is working on minimum spend for his Ink Plus, so we elected to help meet his minimum spend and earn 5X per dollar spent with his Ink Plus Visa.

4. Confirm Your $25 Visa Checkout Discount and Order Gift Cards

You should see the $25 Visa Checkout discount confirmed:

5. Liquidate Your Visa Gift Cards

The Visa Gift Cards sold at Staples are issued by MetaBank, so if you have a Walmart nearby, you should still be able to load them to AMEX Bluebird (Vanilla gift cards do *not* work at Walmart).

Otherwise, if you're like me and don't have any Walmart nearby, your best bet other than spending the Visa gift cards directly would be to cash out your gift cards with Amazon Payments or use Evolve Money to pay your mortgage, utilities or other payees, as long as Evolve Money offers them as a payee.

Do you plan to use Visa Checkout to get $25 off Visa gift cards or other office supplies at Staples.com?
