Sweden, Anguilla Change Entry Restrictions

Anguilla Changes Entry Restrictions

.

Sweden and Anguilla are Changing Their Entry Restrictions as of April 1, 2022. Sweden is reopening to all visitors from outside the European Union, regardless of vaccination status, while Anguilla will change its requirements for fully vaccinated visitors.

Sweden

Sweden, which has been closed to unvaccinated Americans, will reopen to them and all visitors (subject to visa requirements) from non-EU countries as of April 1, 2022. No proof of vaccination or COVID-19 test results will be required. Currently, fully vaccinated Americans are already able to enter Sweden without a negative COVID-19 test, since the U.S. is on Sweden's “approved countries” list.

Where to Stay in Sweden

Our top recommendation is the Grand Hotel Stockholm, ideally a recently renovated Flag Suite or Rooftop Suite with a view of the waterfront and the Royal Palace. TravelSort Clients enjoy these Virtuoso benefits:

  • Upgrade on arrival, subject to availability
  • Continental Breakfast for two guests per bedroom in Cadier Bar
  • $100USD equivalent Food & Beverage credit utilized during stay (not combinable, not valid on room rate, no cash value if not redeemed in full)
  • Early check-in/late check-out, subject to availability
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi

.

Anguilla

Anguilla, unlike Sweden, will continue to require fully vaccinated visitors to show proof of full vaccination and negative results from a COVID-19 test: either a qualifying RT-PCR test taken within 3 days prior to travel or a qualifying rapid antigen test administered by a health professional within 2 days prior to travel. But fully vaccinated visitors will be able to skip applying for permission to enter via the ivisitAnguilla Web site, and will also be able to skip the arrival COVID-19 testing if 1) they were fully vaccinated within the past 6 months prior to entering Anguilla; or 2) they received a booster dose after completing full vaccination. Note that fully vaccinated arrivals who completed their full vaccination more than 6 months prior to entering Anguilla, and who have not received a booster dose, will still be required to pay $50 for a test on arrival as well as quarantine in their hotel room until the negative result from the arrival test is received. While many visitors to Anguilla go through St. Martin SXM, there's now an American Airlines nonstop flight from Miami.

Where to Stay in Anguilla

Our top two recommendations in Anguilla are the Four Seasons Resort Anguilla, particularly the villas, which are ideal for extended families and groups of friends traveling together. We reserve the resort with Four Seasons Preferred Partner benefits. For guests where the beach is of paramount importance, the Belmond Cap Juluca is on one of the loveliest, although there have been some mixed service experiences at this resort. We can reserve the resort with Belmond Bellini Club benefits.
