Hawaii Will Exempt Fully Vaccinated Travelers from a Pre-Travel COVID-19 Test Starting July 8, 2021, which is when the state expects to have 60% of its population fully vaccinated. Governor Ige had originally targeted July 4 to allow vaccinated visitors to skip pre-travel testing, and earlier in June announced the 60% vaccinated benchmark as a condition to allow fully vaccinated visitors to Hawaii to skip pre-travel COVID-19 testing. Currently 57.2% of Hawaii's population is fully vaccinated.
Visitors will need to upload proof of their vaccination to the Hawaii Safe Travels Web site and bring their original vaccination card with them.
Since June 15, 2021 residents and visitors alike have been able to travel inter-island without a pre-travel COVID-19 test, regardless of vaccination status; until July 8, 2021, however, even fully vaccinated visitors to Hawaii will still need to have a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test conducted by one of Hawaii's Testing Partners.
