Four Seasons Hotel Danieli Venice to Open 2025

Four Seasons Venice Opens 2025

Hotel Danieli Venezia, a Four Seasons Hotel will open in 2025 after undergoing an extensive renovation spearheaded by Pierre-Yves Rochon, who has also worked on the Four Seasons Firenze, Florence, Four Seasons George V Paris, Grand Hotel du Cap-Ferrat, a Four Seasons Hotel and Shangri-La Paris, among other luxury hotels.  “With Hotel Danieli, we are adding another iconic property to our Italian portfolio, where we will honor the historic legacy of this Venetian landmark while also introducing the exceptional Four Seasons service experience…” noted Bart Carnahan, Four Seasons President of Global Business Development and Portfolio Management.

The Hotel Danieli Venezia will be the fourth Four Seasons in Italy after Four Seasons Florence, Four Seasons Milan, and the recently opened Four Seasons Taormina San Domenico Palace in Sicily. A fifth Four Seasons in Italy, the Four Seasons Puglia, will open in 2027. The Hotel Danieli deal was announced by Italy's L'Economia.

The Hotel Danieli, which first opened as Palazzo Dandolo in the late 14th century, is centrally located in the heart of Venice, just a 6 minute walk from St. Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco). Named for Giuseppe Dal Niel of Friuli, known as Danieli, who bought the building in 1824, restored it, and turned it into a hotel, the hotel is currently a Luxury Collection property managed by Marriott. The hotel consists of three buildings: the 14th century Palazzo Dandolo and two 19th century additions that are linked by bridges: Palazzo Casa Nuova and Palazzo Danieli Excelsior.

As an older property, Hotel Danieli has been due for a renovation for some time, so we're happy to see that before reopening as a Four Seasons, the hotel will undergo a EUR 30 million renovation.

Four Seasons Preferred Partner Benefits for Four Seasons Venice

Once it reopens in 2025, the best way to reserve the Four Seasons Venice will be with Four Seasons Preferred Partner benefits, which are available to all TravelSort Clients. That's because FSPP guests enjoy top priority for space available upgrades, ahead of AMEX FHR reservations and ahead of reservations made via Virtuoso and other channels, including with the hotel directly. Preferred Partner guests also enjoy daily complimentary breakfast, a $100 credit once per stay when reserving a room, and a $200 credit once per stay when reserving a suite.

Venice pre-pandemic was a victim of over-tourism, with most luxury hotels extremely overpriced for what they delivered, so much so that we included it in our post Most Overpriced Travel Destinations and Where to Go Instead. We hope that Venice will manage to reduce the volume of day-trippers and cruise passengers and encourage “slow tourism,” to return more charm to the destination. In the interim, while waiting for the new Hotel Danieli Venezia, a Four Seasons Hotel, to open in 2025, we recommend The Cipriani, a Belmond property that we reserve for clients with Belmond Bellini Club benefits, which offers a complimentary boat service between the hotel and St. Mark's Square. It enjoys a resort-like feel, thanks to its Olympic-size swimming pool, poolside dining, tennis, and spa.
