A 90K AMEX Business Gold Card is being targeted to some American Express cardholders. Most AMEX card bonuses are once in a lifetime, but this offer doesn't have that language, so even previous cardholders should be able to earn the bonus. Here are the details:
- Earn 90,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points after spending at least $10,000 on the card during the first three months of card membership
- Earn 4X Membership Rewards points per dollar (on the first $150,000 total combined spend) on the top two of six categories of spend each billing cycle: 1) Tech spend from select hardware, software and cloud providers; 2) U.S. shipping spend; 3) U.S. advertising; 4) Dining spend, including takeout/delivery; 5) U.S. gas spend; 6) Airfare purchased directly from airlines
- Apply before 6/30/21
- No foreign transaction fees
- $295 annual fee is NOT waived the first year
.
Is the Offer Worth It?
For those who have had the AMEX Business Gold card, this is a great offer. We'd pick it over the 100K AMEX Business Platinum offer, which requires $15,000 spend within the first three months and carries a heftier $595 annual fee, especially since the AMEX Business Platinum's $200 airline incidental fee credit will be harder for many members to use, with reduced airline travel.

Best Uses of AMEX Membership Rewards Points
For most, the goal should be able to redeem AMEX Membership Rewards points at a minimum value of 2 cents per point or more. This is most feasible when transferring to airline frequent flyer programs and redeeming for first class or business class awards, such as Emirates First Class, ANA First Class Suites, etc. Especially lucrative is when AMEX has a transfer bonus to one of its airline partners, which has come up periodically for British Airways Executive Club and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, among others. Don't bother transferring to JetBlue TrueBlue, since it isn't a 1:1 transfer and is a revenue based frequent flyer program, so it's impossible to get 2 cents per point in value from it.
