  • Earn 3X points per dollar on restaurant spend and eligible food delivery services
  • Earn 2X points per dollar on all travel category spend
  • 10% anniversary bonus: earn bonus points that equal 10% of your total spend in points from purchases made with your credit card during the previous account anniversary year at a rate of 1 point per dollar spent.

FAQ

What are the Best Uses of Chase Ultimate Rewards Points?

The highest value use of Ultimate Rewards points is for booking international first class and business class award tickets by transferring points to airline frequent flyer programs, especially if there's a transfer bonus. Past transfer bonuses have been to Air Canada Aeroplan, British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, and Virgin Atlantic. Some of the awards we've reserved after transferring our Ultimate Rewards points are Qatar First Class, Qatar QSuites Business Class, ANA First Class, Aer Lingus Business Class, Austrian Business Class, Iberia Business Class, and SWISS Business Class, among others.

.

Who is Eligible for the Offer?

If you're under 5/24, haven't earned a Sapphire signup bonus within the past 48 months and don't currently have a Sapphire card of any kind, you're likely to be eligible (although if you just product changed a Sapphire card, you should wait 7-10 days before applying).

You're not eligible for the offer if you:

  • Currently have a Sapphire card of any type
  • Received a signup bonus for any Sapphire card within the past 48 months
  • Have opened 5 or more credit cards (from any bank, not just Chase) within the past 24 months which were reported to the credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, Transunion). Note that most business cards (but not all) are not reported to the bureaus so don't count against you.

.

If Product Changing from a Sapphire Reserve, Which Card Should I Switch To?

If you want to keep your current card number, you'll want to switch to another Visa card, such as the Chase Freedom Unlimited or Chase Freedom. In the past, when product changing from a Sapphire card, we've switched to the Chase Freedom Flex, which is a MasterCard and will have a different card number, but which has the quarterly rotating 5X categories and also earns 3X on dining and drug stores.

.

What Happens to My Existing Ultimate Rewards Points When I Product Change My Sapphire Reserve to a Chase Freedom?

It depends on which other cards you have. If you have another Chase card linked to Ultimate Rewards, such as an Ink Business Preferred card ($95 annual fee), your points can continue to be transferred out to travel partners such as United MileagePlus, British Airways Avios, etc. If you product change to a Chase Freedom and don't also have an Ink card for which you pay an annual fee, your points will become Freedom points, which aren't able to be transferred to Ultimate Rewards travel partners, unless/until you're approved for the Sapphire Preferred (or product change back to the Chase Sapphire Reserve, if not approved for the Sapphire Preferred).

Did you get or plan to get the 100K Chase Sapphire Preferred Offer?
