Spring Break is a great time to get away to a luxury resort; it tends not to be quite as hectic as Christmas and New Year's (with a few exceptions) and if you avoid the days around Easter itself, it can be more reasonably priced than New Year's. While it's best to plan about 11 months out if flying far and wanting to use miles and points for award tickets, some of my recommendations below are relatively close to the U.S. and can still be booked.
1. Cheval Blanc Randheli, Maldives
No question, Cheval Blanc Randheli is pricey, but it's gorgeous, and our favorite Maldives resort to date of the 6 Maldivian luxury resorts we've been to. You wouldn't expect anything less of the luxury resort arm of Louis Vuitton, but it still amazed us even with all the fantastic resorts we've been fortunate enough to have stayed at.
Our villa was spacious, with a divider between the bedroom and living room; an infinity pool that you could swim laps in, with a view of the ocean; a two person shower and separate bath, walk-in closet and dressing area, two toilets, kitchenette with full sized fridge, enough delectable welcome macarons to feed a family twice our size–you get the idea. Don't miss the incredible Michelin quality tasting dinner at Le 1947, or a snorkeling or diving expedition–I was lucky enough to see two octopuses while snorkeling. Tennis buffs and spa lovers will be happy to know that there are dedicated islands with tennis courts and spa, respectively. There's also a complimentary kids' club, Le Carrousel, which our son was loathe to leave, thanks to the fantastic and caring staff.
Randheli, Maldives Weather in March: March is an excellent time to visit the Maldives, because it's after the crazy Christmas and New Year's period, but still squarely during the Maldives' dry season, with few rainy days

2. Four Seasons Costa Rica
Four Seasons Costa Rica will reopen in December 2017, after an extensive renovation, so this is a great time to visit what will be a very fresh-looking property. It's also a resort that offers plenty of choices for couples and families, from beach time and pool time to tennis, golf, cooking classes, a complimentary Kids' Club, and off-property, zip-lining, bird-watching, hiking and horseback riding.
Costa Rica Weather in March: March is a great time to visit the Peninsula Papagayo, where the Four Seasons Costa Rica is located, because it's during the dry season and there tends to be little to no rain and clearer skies. That often changes in April, when there's a greater chance of rain and cloudy skies. Do be prepared for warm temperatures no matter when you travel, with highes in the low-mid 90s and lows in the mid 70s.
