United Adds Nonstop to Sapporo, Hokkaido, Great Skiing

United Airlines will fly nonstop to Sapporo, Hokkaido (CTS) this winter, perfect for skiers seeking great powder. The new route, the first nonstop between the U.S. and Sapporo, will start December 11, 2026, and operate until March 21, 2027, operating 3X per week on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for SFO to CTS, and Saturdays, Mondays, and Thursdays for CTS to SFO:

  • Depart SFO 10:30am, Arrive CTS 14:15 the next day (UA234, 10 hours 45 min.)
  • Depart CTS 16:15, Arrive SFO 8:20am the same day (UA235, 9 hours 5 min.)

Flights are on a 787-9 Dreamliner, with Polaris Business Class seating in a 1-2-1 configuration.
