Top Luxury Beach Resorts with Holiday Season 2020 Availability

Is a Luxury Beach Resort Stay During the 2020 Holidays on your wish list? If so, we recommend reserving soon. That's because many of the most coveted resorts in Hawaii and the Caribbean are already fully booked by repeaters–guests who return year after year, and hence always are given priority when it comes to rebooking for the following year.

Instead, you may need to look further afield to the Maldives or to slightly less in demand resorts to enjoy a luxury beach resort stay during the holiday season, and potentially commit to a 7 night minimum or more. Here are some of our favorite beach resorts that at time of writing have some availability for holiday season 2020:

1. Amanpulo: Minimum 7 Night Minimum

Amanpulo is a private island in the Philippines, about a 1 hour flight from Manila. To date, it has the most beautiful white sand beach we've ever experienced, in all our travels in Hawaii, the Maldives, Caribbean, Asia, etc. We especially enjoyed our last stay in a Deluxe Hillside Casita, with lovely ocean views from the balcony, and clients have loved their stays in private villas, which enjoy their own private swimming pool as well as private chef and butler.

2. St. Regis Maldives Vommuli: Currently No Minimum Stay Requirement

While I've not personally been yet to the St. Regis Maldives, clients have enjoyed it, and I'm especially happy to see that my contact from Laucala, Vincent Pauchon, is now the resort's GM. Currently there's no minimum night stay requirement for the holiday season, so those interested should reserve soon since resorts such as Cheval Blanc Randheli and the Four Seasons Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru are already sold out during many holiday season dates.

3. Joali Maldives: 7 Night Minimum Stay

Joali Maldives, together with Cheval Blanc Randheli, have some of the most spacious and elegant villas in the Maldives, with vaulted ceilings and a private pool for each villa or residence. Get a taste of Joali with our Joali video review below:

4. Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa: Currently No Minimum Stay Requirement

While it will take longer to get to the Park Hyatt Maldives, due its southern position in the Maldives, and it's not as fancy a resort as some of its northern Maldives competitors, the Park Hyatt Maldives continues to have some of the best snorkeling around its house reef of any Maldivian resort, thanks to the careful way the resort was constructed. The good news as well is that there's currently no minimum stay requirement during the 2020 holiday season.

5. Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina: Currently No Minimum Stay Requirement

While Four Seasons Lanai, Four Seasons Maui and Four Seasons Hualalai all have regular repeat guests who return year after year and make it difficult to reserve over holiday season, the Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina is easier to reserve, and is the nicest resort on Oahu. While Oahu may lack the allure of the neighbor islands, it has the advantage of providing more choices for dining and more to do, apart from the water sports available on all the islands.

6. Four Seasons Punta Mita, Mexico: No Minimum Stay Requirement, But Only Available Until 12/26/20 and from 1/1/21

The Four Seasons Punta Mita, owned by Bill Gates, completed its 3 year multi-million dollar renovation in Fall 2019. In addition to redesigned guest rooms and suites, new signature 5BR Sol and 4BR Luna Suites were added, the adults-only pool and Apuane Spa were enhanced, and Dos Catrinas, a beachfront restaurant, was added.

7. Amanera, Dominican Republic: 10 Night Minimum Stay Requirement

Keep in mind that Amanera doesn't have a swimmable beach, as the ocean is very rough there, but it does have a beach club, and as a newer resort the casitas are in better shape than Amanyara in Turks & Caicos. The 10 night minimum is what many top Caribbean luxury resorts have in place during festive season.
