Which Luxury Beach Resorts are Still Available for Festive Season 2021? While you might think that, since there's still a global pandemic, there should be plenty of availability for the coming holiday season…you would be wrong. As we wrote in 3 Reasons Why Hawaii Luxury Resorts are So Expensive in 2021, there's been unprecedented demand for Hawaii, Maui and the Big Island in particular, in part due to pent-up demand built up during the pandemic, but also because of the required COVID-19 testing prior to returning to the U.S. for international destinations. No surprise, then, that Four Seasons Hualalai isn't an option. That said, here are our top recommendations for luxury beach resorts that, at time of writing, are still available for stays that at least include Christmas Day. Availability can change quickly, so if your holiday plans include tropical weather and a beach, we highly recommend making your reservations soon, and of course including travel insurance, particularly Covac Global when traveling internationally.

1. Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa

The Park Hyatt Maldives takes quite a bit of time to get to, but it does offer the opportunity to stay in an overwater villa, plus it enjoys excellent snorkeling around its house reef. It still has availability for both Christmas and New Year's. We can include Hyatt Prive Benefits when reserving the resort.

2. Four Seasons Maui at Wailea

Four Seasons Maui is sold out of its lower category rooms, but it does, at time of writing, have Deluxe Ocean View Rooms, small suites, and Club Floor Rooms available for both Christmas and New Year's–for a price.

3. Four Seasons Anguilla

Four Seasons Anguilla has a few suites, residences and penthouses available for festive season, from December 18, 2021-January 3, 2022. Note that One Bedroom Residences and higher categories have a 10 night minimum, and lower categories have a 7 night minimum stay. 4. Four Seasons Lanai

Four Seasons Lanai has been heavily invested in, since Larry Ellison owns most of Lanai. Renovated rooms meld Hawaiian and Asian touches and the marble bathrooms have Toto toilets. Enjoy snorkeling in Manele Bay and reserve a sunset cruise, where you may even spot dolphins. The Jack Nicklaus designed Manele Golf Course is often a highlight for avid golfers, and other activities include tennis, horseback riding, and ATV rides. The resort is available (at a price) for stays through Christmas and New Year's.

5. Four Seasons Bahamas (The Ocean Club)

Four Seasons Bahamas is still available for both Christmas and New Year's stay dates, making it ideal for travelers in chilly places, in need of a warm reprieve. There are plenty of nonstop flights to Nassau NAS from Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Miami, NYC, Toronto, Washington, DC, and other cities. The resort is available for both Christmas and New Year's, with Four Seasons Preferred Partner benefits.

6. Andaz Maui at Wailea

If the Four Seasons Maui is too pricey, another nearby option in Wailea is the Andaz Maui at Wailea, where even entry level Resort View rooms are still available, as well as more expensive Partial Ocean, Ocean View, and Ocean View Suites. 7. Four Seasons Punta Mita, Mexico

Four Seasons Punta Mita in Puerto Vallarta is a client favorite, and some casitas and suites are still available for stays until December 27, 2021. Stays past that date will be pricey, in one of the villas or penthouses.

8. Four Seasons Costa Rica

The Four Seasons Costa Rica is a client favorite; some have even preferred it to the Four Seasons Anguilla. In addition to beach and water activities, there's golfing, tennis, ziplining, horseback riding, bird watching, and star gazing. Select rooms, suites and residences are still available for both Christmas and New Year's, and we'll gladly include Four Seasons Preferred Partner benefits.

9. Four Seasons Costa Palmas

Four Seasons Costa Palmas is on the East Cape, a remote part of Cabo than most of the other Cabo luxury resorts, so this resort is best for those who want a relaxing retreat and happy to mostly stay on property (although we do highly recommend making time for snorkeling with whale sharks in La Paz, if you're fascinated by these gentle giants). Note that late December and January can start to see a bit more wind than August-early December, but the wide stretch of beach is far more swimmable than most Cabo resort beaches.

10. Ritz-Carlton Kapalua, Maui

The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua is on the windy side of Maui, but by the same token, its beach also tends to be a bit less crowded than some of the Wailea beaches. When there are waves, it can be great for boogie boarding. Club Level rooms and select suites are still available for both Christmas and New Year's.
