My Shop Through Chase Missing Bonus Points were awarded, a nice outcome in response to my complaint that Shop Through Chase Points Didn't Post Due to Chase Fraud Protection. I received an email notifying me of the Shop Through Chase bonus points:
While the points haven't hit my earned points yet, I can see that they're included in the “Earning on Next Statement” section, on the left hand side of the “Your Ultimate Rewards Dashboard.”
I never did receive any correction to the less than helpful Secure Message, but that's not surprising, since the customer service reps there have limited authority, as do regular phone reps. Shop Through Chase bonus point adjustments have to go through the Rewards team, who review click data and the other particulars of your case. The weird thing was that the reps I spoke with maintained there was no click data at all for me on the day I clicked through the Shop Through Chase portal to the Apple Web site, but perhaps that was erased or obscured by the subsequent Chase Fraud Protection action that initially declined the bulk of my purchase.
Takeaway: Leverage Twitter
While it's possible that the bonus points would have posted eventually after the review process (I was told to expect snail mail in 7-10 business days), I think it's not a coincidence that about 24 hours after I'd tweeted my post (tagging @Chase) I was notified about the bonus points.
And while in the grand scheme of things 3900 Chase Ultimate Rewards points are only about $78, at a valuation of 2 cents per point, they tend to be worth more for us, given they're redeemed for Korean First Class New Kosmo Suite 2.0, Singapore Suites, Singapore Business Class, Swiss Business Class and the like.
If you've received missing bonus points from Shop Through Chase, how long did it take, and what was the process?
