This Lufthansa First Class Terminal Review, Frankfurt Airport is a 2019 update, prior to our Lufthansa A380 First Class flight from Frankfurt to New York JFK.

Getting to the Lufthansa First Class Terminal Frankfurt Airport

We arrived on a short haul Lufthansa flight from Milan MXP, and after quickly clearing immigration in Terminal 1, we followed signs to exit the terminal (we had no checked luggage). After exiting, simply turn left and walk ~8 minutes past parking lots until you see the Lufthansa First Class Terminal.

Lufthansa First Class Terminal Amenities

Once in the main lobby area, you'll present your passport, which your assistant will take and return to you later, with your boarding passes.

You'll also clear security with all your accompanying baggage prior to entering the lounge, which is a wonderful time saver, since there's almost never any wait.

One of my other favorite aspects of the Lufthansa First Class Terminal are the two nap rooms. Both were in use during our visit, although since we were there in the morning, we weren't as in need of them as we've been after red eye flights to Europe from the U.S.

If both nap rooms are occupied, as they were during our visit, there are also some relaxation chairs at the far end of the lounge, near the private offices and furthest away from the dining area.

There are several shower rooms, and even a couple with a bathtub, hence the cute Lufthansa First Class Terminal rubber duckies that were prominently featured at the shower room reception.

Each shower room has its own toilet, sink, and rain shower, with Etro bath products. A towel and bathrobe, along with slippers, are provided.

Additional amenities include a Cigar Room, private office space, and even a kids' playroom, which includes a crib for families traveling with babies and toddlers who may need a nap.

Another favorite amenity is at the end of the visit, when you're collected by your attendant, wherever in the lounge you may be, and driven to your plane. Since we were with another couple on this FRA-JFK flight we were in a van, so not as elegant a ride, but still a great time saver.

Lufthansa First Class Terminal Menu and Food

Breakfast was available during our morning visit. As with other Lufthansa First Class lounges, there's both a buffet, for those in a hurry, and a la carte menu service.

The buffet, which can be seen in the above video, included fresh fruits and berries, fresh juices, bacon, sausages, smoked salmon, cold cuts, yogurt, breads, pastries, and desserts.

I have bad memories of terrible Chinese food in Germany and Austria from our visits during childhood, but decided to try the dim sum anyway, and it was pretty tasty, if a far cry from good dim sum places in NYC, let alone Hong Kong.

A highlight was the mango smoothie:

The Verdict

This was our third visit to the Lufthansa First Class Terminal in Frankfurt, which has consistently been one of our favorite first class lounges, for three reasons: 1) It has its own security which there's almost never a wait for, saving time; 2) it has two nap rooms, which even other (non-Lufthansa Group) first class lounges rarely do; and 3) you're driven directly to your plane from the lounge, again, saving time. More standard offerings such as the shower rooms and a la carte dining are executed well too, although more readily available at other lounges, including business class lounges.
