Hotel La Palma, Capri is Joining Oetker Collection. The historic property, Capri's first hotel, opened in 1822, is undergoing a transformation. Its current 72 rooms and suites will be reduced to 50 rooms and suites, enlarging some of the smallest rooms to sizes more befitting a luxury hotel.

Hotel La Palma Location
Hotel La Palma is located on Via Vittorio Emanuele, the perfect location in Capri's historic center, just a one minute walk from Piazza Umberto 1, the center of town, and a 5 minute walk from the Gardens of Augustus, the idyllic terraced botanical gardens with panoramic views of Mount Solaro and Marina Piccola.

Hotel La Palma Amenities
With the renovation, each of the renovated rooms and suites will have its own private balcony or terrace. Rome's Delogu Architects will redesign the rooms and lobby, while New York's Tihany Design will design the new Bianca Restaurant, the pool, spa, and beach club.

Hotel La Palma will feature two restaurants. Gennaro’s restaurant, bar and terrace will feature authentic Italian cuisine and be led by Chef Gennaro Esposito, who earned two Michelin stars for his Torre del Saracino restaurant.
The new Bianca will be a glamorous rooftop restaurant and bar open until late.

Just a short drive away, the La Palma Beach Club in the Marina Piccola, home to the island's most picturesque beaches and popular restaurants, awaits, with long, lazy lunches created by Michelin-starred chef Gennaro Esposito and sunset cocktails.

The Upshot
Italy, especially the Amalfi Coast, is one of our clients' favorite destinations. To date, our clients' favorite Capri property has been J.K. Place Capri, but with just 22 rooms and suites, it tends to be booked up well in advance for its summer season with returning guests. For Hotel La Palma we also recommend reserving as soon as the hotel opens up reservations for 2022, as Capri is an enduring favorite.
We recommend combining a stay here with an Amalfi Coast stay, for example at Belmond's Hotel Caruso in Ravello, or for an even more intimate boutique property, Monastero Santa Rosa in Conca dei Marini.
