Chase Freedom: Earn 5X on Amazon, Whole Foods in Q3 2020

Chase Freedom: 5X on Amazon, Whole Foods Q3 2020

The Chase Freedom Earns 5X Points on Amazon in Q3 2020, including 5X on Whole Foods Market, which Amazon acquired in 2017. The 5X points are on up to $1500 spend for July-September, for a total of 7500 Ultimate Rewards per card.

Cardholders of the Ink Cash and old Ink Plus card were already able to earn 5X on all Amazon spend by buying Amazon gift cards at Staples or other office supply stores, since office supply stores are a 5X category for these cards.

That said, an average consumer is less likely to have the Ink cards, since these are small business cards, so 5X on Amazon and Whole Foods is very convenient for all who can continue to work from home and are getting a number of items delivered. That said, we have something of a love-hate relationship with Amazon/Whole Foods. Convenient, yes, especially as Amazon Prime members receive free grocery delivery from Whole Foods on orders of $35 or more. But we also aim to support small businesses, given how greatly Amazon has decimated the retail landscape.

As a reminder, today, June 14, is the last day to activate the Chase Freedom 5X Bonus for Grocery Stores for Q2, 2020; your spend must be processed by June 30, 2020 to earn the 5X bonus, on up to a maximum of $1500 spend per activated card for the quarter.
