Turks and Caicos Will Require Visitors to Be Fully Vaccinated to Visit, as of September 1, 2021. Turks & Caicos joins Anguilla, which as of July 1 required visitors to be fully vaccinated. You won't be able to just show your CDC vaccination card either, so it's worth familiarizing yourself with the rules if planning a future visit to the popular Caribbean destination. Here's what will be required to visit as of 9/1/21 and whom it applies to:

1. Full Vaccination Required to Visit Turks & Caicos

Who: All visitors 16 years and older
What: Full vaccination required: visitors must be entering Turks & Caicos at least 14 days after receiving the final vaccine dose
Type of Vaccine: Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, or Johnson and Johnson/Janssen
Proof of Vaccination: Either 1) Vaccination letter signed by a doctor attesting to full vaccination status (must include the doctor's registration or license number) or 2) Vaccination e-card, such as from Walgreens, CVS, the UK's National Health Service, or similar source. Note that handwritten vaccination cards are NOT accepted as proof of vaccination
Exemptions: Children under 16 are exempt from the vaccine requirement (ages 10-15 still have to provide a negative COVID-19 test along with all other travelers, see below); visitors unable to take a COVID-19 vaccine for medical reasons (must submit written and signed proof from a medical professional, submitted via the online TCI Assured Portal; will be reviewed and exemption is not guaranteed); certain flight and cargo crew members; people who have written permission from Turks & Caicos' Chief Medical Officer

Negative COVID-19 Test Result

Test must be taken within the 3 days (72 hours) prior to arrival in Turks & Caicos
Test may be one of the following: RT-PCR (must be oropharyngeal or nasopharyngeal swab); NAA; RNA or molecular test; antigen test via nasopharyngeal swab. In all cases, the laboratory conducting the test must be accredited
Self-administered home tests and antibody tests are NOT accepted
Test results must contain the following:
Name (must be same on the TCI Assured application and test result)
Date of birth (must be same on the TCI Assured application and test result)
Laboratory name and contact details
Indication of laboratory credentials (CLIA, ISO 15189)
Date and time of sample collection
Type of test
Type of sample
Test result

Travel Insurance Required

All visitors to Turks & Caicos must carry travel insurance that covers COVID-19 medical costs (including full hospitalization, doctors' visits if needed), prescriptions, and emergency evacutation via air ambulance.

TCI Assured Travel Authorization

All travelers to Turks & Caicos must have received TCI Travel Authorization approval prior to boarding their flight. Since you'll need your negative COVID-19 test results, plan to take a rapid COVID-19 test that meets the requirements 72 hours prior to arrival in Turks & Caicos and upload the negative test results the same day or following day, since the test results and TCI Travel Authorization application must be submitted at least 24 hours before arrival in Turks & Caicos.
