The Chancery Rosewood, Rosewood's second London hotel and ninth hotel in Europe, will open in 2025.
The Chancery Rosewood Location and History
Located at 30 Grosvenor Square in Mayfair, The Chancery Rosewood will be steps from Hyde Park, Mayfair shopping and dining, and other Mayfair luxury hotels such as The Connaught, Claridge's, 45 Park Lane, and The Four Seasons London at Park Lane. It's about a 45 minute to 1 hour 30 minute drive to London Heathrow Airport (LHR).
The Chancery is one of London's prime addresses, and the building itself is Grade II listed for its historical importance. Originally built by architect Eero Saarinen in 1960, The Chancery previously housed the U.S. embassy and was the first purpose-built chancery in London. The current U.S. embassy is now located across the Thames at 33 Nine Elms Lane.

The Chancery Rosewood Rooms and Amenities
While the building's original façade, which features an 11-meter gilded eagle hovering above the main entrance, is being preserved, the building's new life as a hotel and dining and retail destination is being created by British architect, Sir David Chipperfield of David Chipperfield Architects. His work will ensure elegant interior upgrades while reinforcing and enhancing Saarinen’s original vision of a ‘palace on the park’.
The hotel's 139 guest rooms and suites will be designed by architect Joseph Dirand, who also was responsible for The Four Seasons at The Surf Club by Miami Beach. Taking inspiration from the sophistication of the 1920s and the creativity and glamour of the 1960s, the design scheme will draw from a warm, rich color palette and feature refined, Art Deco-style detailing, walnut panelling and marble and brass accents, altogether channelling the ambiance of a traditional British gentlemen’s club.
The hotel will also focus on sustainability, and is expected to be the first five-star hotel and first UK hotel to ever receive a BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) outstanding rating for sustainable development.
The completed hotel will host five gourmet restaurants as well as a Yabu Pushelberg-designed Asaya Spa and wellbeing facility.
