This Review of the Club Lounge at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman is part of a Grand Cayman trip report that also includes the Kimpton Seafire Grand Cayman.
Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman Club Lounge Location and Hours
The Club Lounge is located on the ground floor of the main resort building, a short walk from the lobby and entrance. After entering the hotel, turn left and walk down the hallway; the Club Lounge is located near the bathrooms.
The Club Lounge is open daily from 7am-10pm, and as with other Ritz-Carlton Club Lounges, it serves 5 complimentary food presentations, with the following hours at time of writing:
- Breakfast: 7-11am
- Lunch: 12noon-2pm
- Light Snacks: 2-5pm
- Hors d'Oeuvres and Cocktails: 5-8pm
- Dessert and Cordials: 9-10pm
.
The lounge is modest in size, and can easily get quite crowded during dining times.
.
The relatively small size of the lounge is also why, if you want Club Lounge access, it's important to reserve a Club Room or Suite well in advance for popular times, as they do sell out.

Dinner Appetizers, Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman Club Lounge
We enjoyed some light bites prior to our dinner at Blue Restaurant; the highlight for us was the snapper sashimi, served with orange and a mint emulsion. Fresh, clean flavors that went together well, and artistically presented.
Our next favorite appetizer were the even more simple smoked salmon rolls, with some mustard creme fraiche and cucumber:
.
The short rib hot appetizer was tender, although could have used a little more spice or flavor.
.
I liked that there was an Indian appetizer on offer, Chicken Makhani with Saffron Rice:

Dessert, Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman Club Lounge
Desserts during our visit included popular comfort food: chocolate cake, apple pie, and strawberry panna cotta, as well as cookies. They were all perfectly fine, although not memorable.

Breakfast, Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman Club Lounge
As is often the case, we found ourselves with another family at a few minutes before 7am, waiting for the Club Lounge to open so we could feed our hungry kids. As we also had the option of breakfast at Seven Restaurant, we just had a few things here, primarily the very good smoked salmon (the Seven Restaurant breakfast offers three different kinds) and a tasty Eggs Florentine.
.
While there was certainly enough to make a good breakfast, by virtue of the relatively small space, there simply isn't as much choice in the Club Lounge as you'll find at Seven Restaurant, so if you've reserved with Virtuoso or STARS benefits and have breakfast for two included, I definitely recommend taking advantage of it.
.
Lunch, Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman Club Lounge
We arrived during lunch service in the Club Lounge, which was a straightforward affair of sandwiches, cheeses, salads, dried fruits and nuts.
.
It was thoughtful of the Club Lounge staff to offer to make a grilled cheese sandwich for our son, accompanied by fries.
.
The Verdict
The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman Club Lounge was one of the highlights of our stay at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman, together with dining at Blue by Eric Ripert Coach and our son's tennis lesson with Uli Hoppe in the tennis program.
The food presentations and the service were definitely better than the Club Lounge at the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua on Maui, although not of course at the level of the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong Club Lounge.
The dinner presentation was best, particularly the snapper sashimi with orange and mint emulsion, the smoked salmon appetizer, and the short rib.
I also liked that there was egg florentine at breakfast, not just scrambled eggs.
Lunch was simple and straightforward, but it was a nice touch that the Club Lounge staff offered to make our son a grilled cheese sandwich. We also appreciated the fresh whole fruits that were always available.
