This Palazzo at The Venetian Las Vegas Review is from a recent stay. We were there to visit friends staying nearby, but pro tip: if you have a choice, avoid Vegas for the Fourth of July holiday. Not only were the hotels packed, we had daytime highs of 114 degrees. In fact, we recommend avoiding Vegas for the entire summer, given the brutal heat.

The Palazzo at The Venetian Las Vegas Location and Check-In
The Palazzo at The Venetian is located at 3325 South Las Vegas Boulevard, on the north part of the Las Vegas Strip. It's about a 22 minute walk from The Bellagio and The Cosmopolitan, which are in the central part of the Strip, although if you're dining or seeing shows at The Mirage (such as Cirque du Soleil's Beatles LOVE show, it's just a convenient 6 minute walk. It's a quick 9-15 minute drive to Las Vegas International Airport (LAS). One of the nicest parts of the hotel is the atrium cupola in the lobby.
.
We arrived about 1:30pm, and there was a bit of a line at check-in, even with many agents checking guests in.
.
Since our suite wasn't yet ready, we had to store our luggage with the valets in the lobby and await a text, which came at regular check-in time, 3pm. Note that stored luggage pickup isn't in the same location, it's downstairs.

Palazzo Luxury Suites
Palazzo Tower standard rooms are larger than those in The Venetian Tower. While Venetian Tower Luxury Kings are 650 sq. ft., Palazzo Luxury Kings are 720 sq. ft. There's also the option of suites with two queen beds. There's the option to pay more for a city view, with a view of the pool and partial strip views, or to upgrade further to a strip view, for a guaranteed high floor view of the Las Vegas Strip. Expect to pay over $100 extra per night to upgrade to Prestige, with access to the Prestige Lounge Club.
Entry level suites are on lower floors, with the next category up the Premium King City View, which is also larger, at 940 sq. ft. The Grand One Bedroom King is 1280 sq. ft., and Executive Wellness, Executive One Bedroom and Executive Two Bedroom Suites are also available.
Our Luxury King Suite on the 28th floor was a city view, facing the pool, with partial strip views. We weren't able to see the main fireworks displays from our suite on the 4th, but we did see numerous smaller aerial fireworks.
.
The pool was far more popular midday and in the afternoon, when it got sun.
.
The King bed has a pillowtop mattress, and was relatively comfortable, although the pillows were very firm and not comfortable at all.
.
The living area had a L-shaped sofa bed, as well as a round table with two chairs and a work desk. The carpets and all of the upholstery seemed designed to be as hard-wearing as possible, unsurprising for Las Vegas.
.
The bathroom has double sinks, which we appreciated, along with a soaking tub and separate shower, although the shower wasn't a rain shower and the “Aromatherapy” bath products were chemical and pretty awful. Definitely bring your own shampoo and toiletries.
.
The closet had two bathrobes and pairs of slippers, as well as one luggage rack.
.
One of the things I like least about Vegas is that in addition to the mandatory resort fee, hotels such as the Palazzo don't provide bottled water, don't provide any coffee or tea making facilities (don't even bother asking) and the minibar is the type where if you even slightly move anything you're automatically charged. If you want an in-room fridge, The Palazzo charges $50 per night.

The Verdict
Las Vegas is known for “faux luxury” and The Palazzo at The Venetian Las Vegas is no exception. The best thing we can say is that the suite was quiet and the bed was relatively comfortable (although the pillows were way too firm and uncomfortable). Don't expect any real luxury touches in the room: there are no glasses in the bathroom, no coffee or tea facilities, and the bath products are terrible: bring your own. We also had to correct our bill and get an erroneous charge removed when we checked out. It's nearly impossible to find a good luxury hotel experience in Vegas; for the hard product we recommend SKYLOFTS at MGM Grand, and for service we recommend the Four Seasons Las Vegas. Or, if you're a high roller, the renovated Villas at The Mirage are very tasteful and service is good.

Wonderful to hear of a place with firm pillows, which I love but never find. I FINALLY had some during my recent stay in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, such a nice surprise!
