Nimb Hotel Review, Copenhagen

Nimb Hotel Review Copenhagen

This Review of Nimb Hotel, Copenhagen is from our 2018 visit, following our stay at the Four Seasons St. Petersburg, Russia. See our updated Nimb Hotel Review from 2022.

Nimb Hotel Location and Check-In

Nimb Hotel is located at Bernstorffsgade 5, in Tivoli Gardens, across from the Copenhagen Central Train Station. A train from Copenhagen Airport to the Central Train Station takes only 13 minutes, and run every 10 minutes or so during the day.

We arrived in the morning, and as our room wasn't ready yet, we left our luggage with the friendly staff at Reception before joining our Danish friends. When we returned in the late afternoon, our luggage was already in our room, which had kindly been upgraded to a Balcony Suite.

Balcony Suite

We were in Balcony Suite #34, which was very spacious. Balcony Suites range from 50-71 square meters, which is 538-764 square feet. We loved the outdoor balcony, and being able to look at Tivoli Gardens from it.

After entering, on the right was a walk-in closet, with plenty of space for our suitcases.

Keep in mind that the suite doesn't have any separation between the living area and sleeping area, but the desk provided some separation between our four poster bed and the extra bed that was added for our son.

There were thoughtful welcome amenities: fresh fruit, chocolates, nuts and bottled water for us, along with some of the most delicious welcome cakes we've ever enjoyed: marzipan with raspberry jam, from Cakehagen:

Our son was given a cute puzzle, along with juice and popcorn as his welcome amenity:

The bathroom featured a Philipped Starck designed soaking tub, double sinks and vanities, a glass enclosed rain shower, and separate toilet chamber.

Bath products and amenities were by Danish brand, Meraki. In addition to shampoo, condition, shower gel, moisturizer and soap, there was also a moisture mask, comb, razor, nail kit and dental kit. Everything had been thought of.

Breakfast at Nimb Brasserie

Breakfast is served in Nimb Brasserie between 7-11am daily. I liked the set up, with a high quality cold buffet of fresh fruit,n juices, yogurt, bircher muesli, champagne, salad, cheeses, breads, pastries, and homemade jams.

You are also able to order a hot dish made to order from the a la carte menu:

The freshly laid eggs come from Tivoli's own chickens.

Nimb Hotel Rooftop Pool and Sundeck

Nimb has a rooftop pool and sundeck, open to hotel guests from 7am daily. The pool was quite cool and didn't seem heated, but on a hot day it would be very refreshing. And there's a great view of Tivoli from the sundeck as well.

The Verdict

Nimb Hotel may be my favorite boutique hotel experience in Europe to date, thanks to its wonderful location in Tivoli Gardens and complimentary access to Tivoli, and its wonderfully tasteful and well appointed Balcony Suites, great service, thoughtful welcome amenities, and delicious breakfast. It's true that I might caution against a stay here on summer weekends, due to the noise level of some of the weekend concerts, especially if you prefer an early bedtime. But for weekdays and for those happy to stay up late, I highly recommend Nimb Hotel, especially if you prefer luxury boutique hotels and/or want to visit Tivoli.
