A New DeepFlight Submarine at the Four Seasons Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru is offering the “dive without getting wet” experience that we enjoyed at Laucala Island in Fiji, as described in our Laucala Island Top 10 Things to Do post and as seen in our Laucala Island YouTube Video at 12:25.

Of course, unlike at Laucala, where the DeepFlight submarine rides are included in the all inclusive resort pricing, the rides at the Four Seasons Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru are at extra cost, currently $1500 + 12% tax for one hour for one or two passengers.
The submarine's maximum depth is 120 feet, and children age 7 and over 47 inches in height can also enjoy it. Note though that the maximum height is 75 inches, and maximum weight per passenger is 265 lbs. That makes sense, since my husband, who is 6'4″ had to hunch a bit, and it wasn't comfortable for him. So very tall guests may have to miss out.
If you fit, however, and if you aren't an avid scuba diver, this is a great way to get a dive-like experience you wouldn't otherwise, with insights and commentary about the marine life that you're seeing shared over the sub's communication system.
Four Seasons Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru is well positioned for great scuba diving and snorkeling, set in Baa Atoll, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. Clients who have enjoyed the “Manta-On-Call” program, where you're only called when mantas are sighted, then whisked out in a speedboat to snorkel with them, have snorkeled with over 60 mantas, describing the experience as magical.
