Transfer Hotel Points to American AAdvantage with a 25% Bonus until 10/30/19. Because of the poor transfer ratios of Best Western (5:1), Choice Hotels (5:1), and InterContinental (10:2), the only worthwhile transfer partner is Marriott Bonvoy, the successor to Starwood Preferred Guest, as it transfers on a 3:1 basis, with an additional 5000 miles for each 60,000 Marriott points transferred in a single transaction.
Note that other hotel partners, such as Hilton, Hyatt and Wyndham are not eligible for the 25% transfer bonus.
This means that if you transfer 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points you'd earn 31,250 AAdvantage miles (20,000 miles + 5000 bonus for transferring 60K Marriott points + 25% bonus with the promotion, until 10/30/19).
Since none of the other major transferable points currencies (Chase Ultimate Rewards, AMEX Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou points) transfer to AAdvantage, and it's become harder to earn Citi AAdvantage points through credit card bonuses unless you receive targeted signup offers that bypass the 48 month rule, the 25% transfer bonus could be a good way to earn AAdvantage miles for those with plenty of Bonvoy points that have become disillusioned with the way Marriott is running the program, especially since AAdvantage miles can still be used for some good partner awards such as JAL First Class, JAL SkySuite Business Class, Cathay Pacific First Class, Qatar QSuites Business Class and others.
