This luxury resort originally opened two decades ago, but completed a multi-year, multi-million dollar renovation in 2020 that encompassed all its rooms, as well its infinity pool, adult pool and fitness facilities. Many of our clients have a hard time deciding between this resort and the also newly renovated Four Seasons Resort Hualalai.
We were welcomed with cool towels and refreshing mango-orange welcome drinks:

Known for its sunny, dry winters, this resort is the perfect getaway during the chilly winter season in the U.S. and Canada. Our first stop was the resort's Lazy River, where you can float along in an inner tube (there are even double tubes for couples or friends), ideally with a drink in hand.

Next we made a quick photo stop at the Adult Pool, a peaceful respite for couples who prefer some child-free relaxation:

Since we had our young teen with us, however, we proceeded to the main infinity pool at the heart of the resort, with stunning ocean views. There's also a hot tub here.

The beach is below, and on calmer days the ocean is great for kayaking and swimming.

Dining has been a treat here, from the copious breakfast buffet, with fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries, smoked salmon, cheeses, hot dishes, and made to order omelets, to Sunday brunch, particularly chicken with waffles, to made to order salads for lunch, and beautifully composed dinners, such as suckling pig with vegetables.

We've barely scratched the surface of the many sports activities, which include tennis, pickleball, golf, basketball, yoga, and more, but we did enjoy a nature hike yesterday and a mountain hike today with panoramic views from the top. We were even able to see some whales breaching and spouting water, in the distance.

Above all, even though it's peak season for the resort, we've been impressed by the level of service. Particularly during the pandemic, there's been a shortage of hospitality talent, as workers who were furloughed during the time when resorts were closed or operating at very low occupancy changed jobs. But even during peak breakfast/brunch times, we've had staff check on us and on our dining orders, and there's been exemplary care taken for a family allergy, which we appreciate. Truly a class act.
