Guess the Hotel: Urban Oasis

Guess the Hotel has been on hiatus for awhile, but it's back, this time with a city center hotel that's nevertheless an urban oasis. It's just a 15 minute drive from the airport, and an easy walk from the hotel into the city center.

The hotel itself is in a residential area, and a superb boutique experience for those who prefer more unique hotels, yet it has all the requisite 5-star amenities and service.

In fact, it's one of the most child-friendly big city hotels we've stayed in. At check-in, my son was given a voucher for a complimentary mocktail, and was able to customize it to include mango, passion fruit and raspberry–delicious!

Just as lovely as the drink was the setting: the hotel's own garden courtyard, with gorgeous summer flowers in bloom, a fountain, and comfortable al fresco seating under an umbrella.

The hotel's architecture reflects its history as a grand family home in the early 20th century.

Take an invigorating dip in the Spa's swimming pool, and relax afterwards in the jacuzzi, or outdoors on deck chairs.

Come turndown, my son enjoyed a sweet treat of chocolate covered grapes, which he loved so much he wants to recreate them at home. These were served with a thermos of cold milk. And on the amenity tray in the background, you can see, between the apples, a delectable Italian chocolate-hazelnut sweet–my favorite turndown chocolate treat in recent memory.
