Four Seasons Charleston Hotel will open in 2028

The Four Seasons Charleston, announced in 2023, will open in 2028. Upon completion, it will be the first Four Seasons in South Carolina and the only major luxury hotel brand in Charleston, now that The Charleston Place is no longer part of Belmond.

The hotel will be located at 155 Meeting Street, a mere two minute walk from The Charleston Place Hotel in downtown Charleston, and walking distance to local sights such as Charleston City Market, the Joe Riley Waterfront Park, The Battery, The Charleston Museum, and others. There will be 139 rooms and suites, which is about one third the number of The Charleston Place and on par with The Dewberry Charleston, another Virtuoso hotel. While the hotel will be the focal point of the project, there will also be 36 private residences offered to buyers.

A significant point of contention was the hotel architect's request to add a recessed eighth floor, as a rooftop terrace, with a conservatory and a rooftop swimming pool. Local preservation groups opposed this feature, but ultimately Charleston's Board of Architectural Review approved it. Private cabanas will be offered. In addition to the outdoor pool, there will be a state-of-the-art fitness center and full-service spa with private treatment rooms and hydro-thermal facilities.

Dining and socializing venues will include four restaurants and bars.
