Fly Aer Lingus Business Class to Europe for 48K Miles

Fly Aer Lingus Business Class between Europe and the U.S. this fall from 48,000-50,000 British Airways Avios, depending on route and travel dates.

Travel to Dublin DUB from Boston BOS, Chicago ORD, Cleveland CLE, Las Vegas LAS, Los Angeles LAX, Miami MIA, Minneapolis MSP, New York JFK, Philadelphia PHL, San Francisco SFO, Seattle SEA, Toronto YYZ, or Washington, DC IAD.

Travel to Shannon SNN from Boston BOS or New York JFK. It's easy to connect from Dublin to other destinations in Europe, if you don't plan to stay in the Emerald Isle, and Aer Lingus flies from Shannon to London LHR and Paris CDG (low cost carrier Ryanair flies to additional cities).

Peak travel dates to Dublin from SFO, SEA, LAX and MIA, ironically, are 47,750 Avios each way, while off-peak dates from these cities are 90,000 British Airways Avios (but only 63,000 Aer Lingus Avios). Aer Lingus charges 50,000-75,000 Avios each way, so unless you're reserving SFO, SEA, or MIA peak routes, reserve via Aer Lingus.

Another option for those with Capital One points is to use a 20% transfer bonus to British Airways Avios to transfer points.

Aer Lingus awards can also be booked with United MileagePlus miles, but it's considerably more expensive, at 85,000 miles each way. Alaska Mileage Plan is a better bet, at 45,000-70,000 miles each way.

Where to Stay in Ireland

We recommend The Merrion in Dublin, although only the rooms and suites in the Main House, such as the Deluxe King, Junior Suite, Merrion Suite or Specialty Suite. The hotel's 2-Michelin star restaurant, Patrick Guilbaud is well worth it for a sumptuous lunch or dinner of inspired French cuisine.
