Getting to Acadia National Park

Acadia National Park is located about a 3 hour drive from Portland Airport, Maine (PWM), with flights from Atlanta (Delta), Boston (Cape Air), Charlotte (AA), Chicago ORD (United), Detroit (Delta Connection), New York JFK (Delta Connection and seasonally, JetBlue), New York LGA (Delta Connection), Newark EWR (United), Orlando MCO (Frontier), Philadelphia (AA), Washington IAD (United) and other cities.

Unlike Cape Elizabeth, Ogunquit and Kennebunkport, there are no luxury resorts in the area, but TravelSort Clients enjoy our recommendations for the best rentals.

Acadia National Park Fees

All Acadia National Park visitors are required to have a park entrance pass and to display a park entrance pass in their vehicle from May-October. Fees are waived on the following days:

  • Martin Luther King Jr Day (January 18 in 2021)
  • First Day of National Park Week (April 17 in 2021)
  • National Park Service Anniversary (August 25 in 2020)
  • National Public Lands Day (September 26 in 2020)
  • Veterans Day (November 11)

Currently, pass rates are as follows. Visitors may buy Acadia National Park passes online.

  • Annual Pass, valid for 12 months for up to 15 occupants of a single non-commercial vehicle: $55
  • Private vehicle pass, 7 days: $30
  • Motorcycle (includes passholder and 1 passenger), 7 days: $25
  • Individual pass, 7 days (not needed for youth aged 15 and under): $15
