Activate the Chase Freedom 5X Bonus for Q2 2026 for Amazon, Whole Foods, and Feeding America. 5X also applies to Chase Travel, but we don't recommend that route, at least for luxury travelers.
You can activate the bonus now, although the 5X bonus will only apply to spend made April-June 2026.
Which Spend is Eligible for 5X Points
Amazon is the easiest category for which to max out the 5X bonus, given the plethora of items available. For anyone who shops at Whole Foods, that spend is also bonused at 5X both in physical stores and online. Many Whole Foods stores also sell Whole Foods gift cards, so that can be a great way to max out the $1500 per quarter bonused spend if you have multiple Chase Freedom cards, as we do.
We don't recommend spending on Chase Travel, since if you have to change or cancel a flight ticket or hotel, you can only do so via Chase Travel, which isn't the best for customer service: it can take far longer to resolve issues with Chase than going directly to the airline (or for our clients who have booked flights or hotels with us, we handle everything). Chase Travel also doesn't have access to all of our preferred partner perks for certain luxury hotel brands, so you're leaving value on the table by going through Chase.
Each time we product change a Chase card from an annual fee card we get it changed to a Chase Freedom Flex card with the 5X quarterly bonus categories. While each Chase Freedom card has a maximum of $1500 spend per quarter that receives the 5X bonus, by having six Chase Freedom cards and spending $1500 on each one, that's 45,000 Ultimate Rewards points for the quarter instead of only 7500 points.
In order to maximize the value of the points you earn, make sure you have a Chase card such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve or the Ink Business Preferred so that you can combine your Freedom points and transfer them as Ultimate Rewards points to partners such as Aeroplan, British Airways, Singapore KrisFlyer, United MileagePlus, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, Air France/KLM Flying Blue, and others. What's especially valuable is taking advantage of periodic transfer bonuses to frequent flyer programs, most often to British Airways/Iberia/Aer Lingus, Aeroplan, and Virgin Atlantic. We've used our points for ANA First Class Suites, SWISS Business Class, Iberia Business Class, Aer Lingus Business Class, Qatar First Class, and Qatar Qsuites Business Class, among others.
