While it's possible to use more than one AMEX Membership Rewards point to pay for items, I recommend only using one Membership Rewards point, as it's otherwise a terrible use of AMEX points; in general, “Pay with Point” is a terrible value proposition. A much better use of points is transferring to certain airline frequent flyer programs and redeeming for first class and business class award travel, where the nominal value of your points could be 5-10 cents or more per point.
Also be sure to earn 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points per dollar on Amazon spend, by loading your Amazon account with gift cards purchased at Staples or another office supply store with an Ink Cash (or old Ink Plus) card, as these cards earn 5X per dollar on office supply store spend.
