Can You Guess the City Hotel? It's an Urban Resort, yet just a few minutes' drive from the city center, which is the country's business capital. Originally built over a hundred years ago, the current luxury hotel was extensively enhanced and expanded in 2008, with a $450 million renovation.
Entering the lobby lounge across from reception, you're struck by the contrast between the magnificent high, carved wooden ceilings, the more modern artwork on the back wall, and the anthuriums.
In your Junior Suite, the high ceilings again lend even more space to the room, anchored by an inviting King bed and stylish sofa.
Among other sweet welcome treats are these fresh cherries and chocolate cherry cakes:
The bathroom features double sinks, a TV embedded in the mirror, a large walk-in rain shower, and a stand alone soaking tub:
Relax on your private balcony, with views of the grounds, across the city or even views of the lake:
At the Spa, enjoy heated indoor and outdoor pools, with various hydrotherapy jets.
Breakfast can be enjoyed on the welcoming terrace in nice weather:
In addition to the well curated buffet, with a variety of fresh berries, cheeses, smoked salmon, cold cuts, breads and pastries and fresh squeezed juices, egg dishes, pancakes and waffles can be made to order.
Across from the breakfast area is some of the hotel's extensive art collection. Some of it may not be to everyone's taste, but we enjoyed it.
There are great hiking and biking trails nearby, as well as tennis courts, golf, and a sports center that offers mini golf, a favorite with families.
Can you guess the hotel and which city it's in?

It is the Dolder Grand in Zurich, Switzerland
Yes! It’s the Dolder Grand. If you’ve stayed at the hotel, what has your experience been like?
It looks like the Dolder Grand but maybe it’s not because Zurich is not the capital of Switzerland
Zurich is the business capital of Switzerland
Yes, Daniel and you are correct that it’s the Dolder Grand. I needed to correct my phrasing of the capital, you’re absolutely right that Bern is the political capital of Switzerland.
