There's a 15K AMEX Blue Business Plus Card Offer, better than the usual 10K signup bonus offer. While that may not seem like a high signup bonus offer, the real value of this card, as we mention on our Best Credit Cards page, is in earning 2X AMEX Membership Rewards points on all spend, with no annual fee. Both my husband and I have this card, and for each of us, it's our only American Express card. Why pay an annual fee, especially given the AMEX Platinum fee increase to $695, when the AMEX Blue Business Plus earns a better bonus on all kinds of otherwise unbonused spend, from medical and dental bills to home furnishings and other major purchases that no other credit card offers as a bonus category? Here are the offer details:
- Earn 15,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $3000 on eligible purchases within 3 months of account opening
- Earn 2X points per dollar on everyday business purchases up to $50,000, per calendar year, with no category restrictions
- No annual fee

Best Uses of AMEX Membership Rewards Points
Don't let AMEX fool you into using your hard earned points for “Pay with Points” or for gift cards, where you'll only get a value of 1 cent per point. Even worse is using Membership Rewards points to pay some of your AMEX bill; typically you'll get even less, 0.6 cents per point. That's great for AMEX in terms of removing liability from its balance sheet, but terrible value for you as a cardholder.
By far the best use of AMEX Membership Rewards points, if you travel, is to transfer points to certain frequent flyer programs in order to reserve first class and business class award flights. Our Award Booking clients' favorite redemptions are for ANA The Suite First Class, Cathay Pacific First Class, ANA Business Class, Singapore Business Class, Qantas First Class, Emirates First Class, and EVA Business Class, among others. It will be some time until Asia reopens to most U.S. travelers, but idyllic locations such as the Maldives remain open.
