Vietnam Reopening March 15 to Vaccinated Visitors

.

Vietnam is Reopening to Vaccinated U.S. and Certain Other International Visitors on March 15, 2022, with no quarantine for visitors traveling with an approved operator (TravelSort is able to assist clients with luxury travel stays in Vietnam with an approved operator). As of time of writing, fully vaccinated international arrivals who are independent travelers have to self-isolate for three days and test on days 1 and 3. Here are the requirements starting 3/15/22:

.

Vaccination

All arrivals age twelve and older must show proof of full vaccination (with the final dose administered at least 14 days before arrival but no more than 6 months before arrival) or recent recovery from COVID-19 to enter Vietnam. In lieu of vaccination arrivals may present medical proof that they recovered from COVID-19 within the prior 6 months.

.

COVID-19 Testing Requirements

All arrivals over two years of age must have negative results from a COVID-19 RT-PCR test administered within the 72 hours prior to boarding the flight, or a rapid test taken within 24 hours prior to boarding the flight. Additionally, international arrivals must take a second rapid test at their accommodation in Vietnam within 24 hours after arriving of Vietnam, and quarantine until negative results are received.

.

Travel Insurance

Visitors must have proof of travel insurance that covers at least $10,000 for COVID-19-related treatment.

.

Getting to Vietnam

There aren't nonstop flights between the U.S. and Vietnam, but possible options include JAL Business Class from LAX or SFO via Tokyo NRT to Hanoi HAN or Qatar Business Class from New York JFK or Washington IAD via Doha to Hanoi. While Japan is still closed to international visitors, it's possible to transit Tokyo NRT as long as you're transiting while on a single itinerary and remain airside.

.

Where to Stay in Vietnam

We're able to share approved operator itineraries, with no quarantine required, with our clients. For those designing independent stays, our top luxury resort recommendation in Vietnam is Amanoi, in Nui Chua National Park, about a 1 hour drive from Cam Ranh Airport (CXR). A more family-friendly option is the Four Seasons Hoi An (The Nam Hai), which we can reserve for clients with special offers and Four Seasons Preferred Partner benefits. In Hanoi, we recommend the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, which we reserve for clients with Virtuoso benefits. We look forward to the future Rosewood Hoi An, although its opening has been pushed back to 2024.
