Review: Limon Restaurant, Four Seasons Los Cabos

.

This Review of Limon Restaurant at Four Seasons Los Cabos at Costa Palmas is from our recent stay at the resort. The open air restaurant is one of the resort's three main dinner options; the others are Estiatorio Milos, for Mediterranean seafood, and the more casual Casa de Brasa, which also serves poolside lunches.

Limon Location and Hours

Limon is set in the resort's lemon grove, a short walk from the the resort's spa. It serves dinner nightly from 5-10pm. We recommend confirming all dinner reservations in advance of one's stay, to ensure availability for your preferred evening and dining time.

Limon Menu and Food

Limon specializes in grilled vegetables and meats; some meats are wrapped in banana leaves and slow cooked in a Mexican barbacoa, an underground oven, similar to how Hawaiians traditionally prepare kalua pork in an imu.

From the regular menu, we ordered the roasted pepper soup with cashew, local jocoque cheese, and tarragon. This was one of the most flavorful vegetable soups I've ever tried, the pureed peppers and cashews making the soup silky and thick. My husband and son greatly enjoyed their tastes of it.

Due to an allergy, we thought we wouldn't be able to order the Roasted Cauliflower. Unexpectedly, the Chef was able to create a version of it without the allergen, which he personally presented to us, a wonderful surprise. Even our son, who claims to hate cauliflower, was impressed. It's easily the best cauliflower dish my husband and I have tasted in recent memory. We ended up scraping up every last bit of the avocado and serrano chili sauces that came with it.

We ordered the Catch of the Day off the kids' menu for our son, a perfectly cooked sea bass, which my husband ended up eating most of. At MXN 285 (~$15) for an excellent piece of fresh fish accompanied by asparagus and broccoli, it was a great deal.

Our son took my husband's Organic Pork Ribs, which were succulent, tender, and served with an addictive chile guajillo puree. Even with me stealing bites, there was so much meat we couldn't quite finish it all.

The three of us also shared a very cheesy organic kale gratin; it was delicious, but so rich we couldn't finish it all.

The Verdict

Limon was one of our two favorite dinners in Los Cabos, thanks to the superb dishes and service that went above and beyond. Highly recommended, along with the Four Seasons Los Cabos at Costa Palmas, to anyone considering a luxury resort stay in Los Cabos.

is being a guest at the Four Seasons or owner at Costa Palmas a requirement to dine there?
