This Review of the Grand Hyatt Kauai's Grand Club Lounge is from our 2022 stay at the Grand Hyatt Kauai. Even for Hyatt Globalists, the best way to reserve the resort is with Hyatt Privé benefits, since in addition to Globalist benefits, which already include daily breakfast and lounge access, Hyatt Privé reservations enjoy a guaranteed room upgrade at booking (for non-peak occupancy periods), and a $100 resort credit.

Grand Hyatt Kauai Grand Club Lounge Location, Access and Hours
The Grand Club is located on the ground floor of the Poipu Wing (the right hand side of the resort when facing the ocean) a short walk from the Spa. The lounge is open to guests staying in a Grand Club room or suite and Hyatt Globalists. It's open daily from 6:30am-8:30pm, with the following services:
- Continental Breakfast: 6:30-10am
- Afternoon Snacks: 12-4pm
- Cocktails & Hors d'Oeuvres: 5-7pm
- Desserts: 7:30-8:30pm

The interior of the lounge isn't huge, but guests are permitted to bring food out of the lounge to their rooms and suites, so even during our stay during a peak spring break period, it didn't get unduly crowded.

In nice weather, we enjoyed being able to sit at one of the four outdoor tables outside, with a view of the ocean.

Breakfast Menus and Food, Grand Hyatt Kauai Grand Club
Breakfast was our favorite service in the Grand Club, with fresh fruit, bagels, smoked salmon, hard boiled eggs, muesli, yogurt, and a changing hot special of the day that was potatoes on one day, scrambled eggs another day. I will say that the pastries and muffins weren't very good, I'd suggest skipping those.

Evening Appetizer Menus and Food, Grand Hyatt Kauai Grand Club
Our experience with the evening hors d'oeuvres was more mixed. Don't expect the nicer canapes and sushi of the Fairmont Pacific Rim Gold Floor Lounge in Vancouver, the snapper crudo and short rib appetizers of the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman Club Lounge, or the fare of the Conrad Washington, DC Sakura Club Lounge. Our go-to dishes were the cheese, bread, vegetarian pasta and fresh fruit:

On the night with fried won ton and potstickers, the won ton weren't very good but the potstickers were decent:

Another night, the “seafood” mac & cheese had barely any seafood in it:

Afternoon Snacks / Desserts
Afternoon snacks at the lounge consist of drinks (available all the time), potato chips, fresh fruits, granola bars, and cookies/brownies:

After dinner desserts were various cakes, brownies, mini tarts with blueberries and cream, and cookies. None of them were very good, they're nothing worth saving room for.

The Verdict
Our favorite aspects of the Grand Club Lounge at the Grand Hyatt Kauai were the very friendly, helpful staff and the breakfast. The evening appetizers were good for a bit of cheese, bread, veggies and fresh fruit before dinner, but I wouldn't count on it for dinner unless you're desperate.
